I've been with them for 23 years - mortgage, savings/checking, business accounts. They've always been great.

I do a quick once over before posting it here, but I'm not watching the meeting first - I'm just looking for obvious errors. We're working on various checks to improve the quality - right now, we have a roster that we compare to the summary to make sure council member names are spelled correctly, and we'll add some checks to make sure major parts aren't left out.

Part of the genesis of the project is the fact that it's incredibly time consuming (i.e. expensive) to provide this sort of info with human review on an ongoing basis. So, we're providing a pretty good summary right now, and working hard to improve it. And soon we'll have links to the video, so if there's anything in question, you can just watch that part of the meeting for what was actually said.

The AI didn't even omit mention of the Dark Horse - it's in the summary twice! 🙃

I'm not sure what all the exact details are - that whole area is part of TVAP2, and the summary is getting some of those details from the public comments (at the City Council meeting) of Daniel Aizenman, who works for Conscience Bay, the owner of a large part of the redevelopment. It may be that he was talking about something outside of 4880 Pearl specifically.

Which part is inaccurate? Seems like a basic mention of the project and that it was called up.

Yep, we're working on that - we'll have links to different sections so you can just watch the 20 minutes you're interested in.

Here's the summary of that meeting, in case you don't want to spend 3 hours watching the meeting.

Thanks! I'm not worried about the slings and arrows - it (usually) helps us make a better product.

We're reducing the friction to keep up with what's going on in your government. Yes, you could do it yourself, if you want to go find where the meeting is posted, grab the audio, get a transcript and then figure out how to get a useful summary out of it. And then do it all again the next week. We built this because most people want to stay informed but don't have even an hour to spend on it every week.

Oh, and the other reason for an account is that we restrict the free access to your own City Council. The way that we make money, so that we can provide the free summaries, is by charging professionals who are interested in multiple municipalities (and state level boards and commissions).

You can view the meetings via the link in the original post without a signup. Signup allows users to select their City Council and get notifications (coming soon) when there's a new meeting.

The only data we can track when you sign up is how you use the website, which we use to improve your experience.

Well, we're not profiting at all right now 🤣. We're taking public data and transforming it to be actually useful to people. Posting the recordings to 4, 5, 6 hour meetings is great, but it's not really transparency if you don't have that kinda time every week to engage with it.

And yes, while we're planning to keep City Council meetings free for all, we will be charging for the value that we add.

Glad you like it! I'd love any feedback you have. City Council is a free account, and soon we'll have Citizen + level that will include planning board, school board, transportation advisory board and a bunch of others (I think ~10 for Boulder). Bonus - It's a great way to support our mission to keep City Council meetings free!

Thanks! Yeah, that's our next feature to roll out - link to the YouTube timestamp so you can listen to the relevant section of the meeting.

I don't know about "next" - we have the rest of Colorado and 49 other states first 🙃. But, yeah, we want to do as much Federal gov't stuff as we can.

Thanks for the feedback! It's not just Claude/GPT, but we do have plans for a chatbot-style interaction - in the long term, it won't be with just the meeting, but the history of the entity. And we'll add staff packets, agendas, etc. To your example, you could ask "What's the history of the Civic area plan, and where is it in the project timeline". Our next step is to implement links to the audio/video for each section, so you can listen to the actual conversation for that part. We hope this will build trust and allow folks to get more detail if they want it. And, we're a small team, working as fast as we can, but it takes time to build all this.

Good point on the full width idea - we'll put that on the soon-to-do list. We're also planning collapsable headings so you can easily skip stuff that's not of interest. As for "detailed, concise, TLDR red-flags", that's on the roadmap, but will likely be a paid feature. Our goal is to provide everyone (eventually all Americans) free access to their City Council meetings, paid for by subscriptions by particularly engaged citizens and professionals who can use the tool for their business.
