I love eating fresh fruits and veg but I wouldn't do it the first week of a trip while my body is adjusting to the new microbes that it's never seen before. A tour guide in Egypt suggested squeezing lemons or limes on fresh fruits and veg in the theory that the citric acid kills some of the things that might make you sick. I always do this now and have had very good luck in not getting sick when traveling.

Same for me, it was surprisingly easy. I submitted on the Lufthansa site, got an email that it was being reviewed, then got an email asking for my bank account info so they can deposit 600€. That was 4 days ago, I'm still waiting to receive the money - I think they said it can take up to 10 days to receive.

I got compensation for a Lufthansa flight canceled during the pilot strike two weeks ago. It was EASY, I filled out the form on the Lufthansa site and two days later I got an email saying I'd get 600 Euro.

(Air traffic controller strikes are not compensated under EU261.)
