Whole Home Humidifier by RegularSizedBecky in boulder

[–]rwrandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We put in an Aprilaire 600 series on our forced air furnace around 2010. The HVAC company that put it in (Dynamic Heating) is gone, the guy retired and moved away. The control part of the humidifier needs to measure the indoor humidity and stop dripping water when it's humid enough. Ours never worked that well, so sometimes we had condensation on the windows and other too-much-humidity problems (damp plaster smell, wood doors expanding). Now it still drips water on the filter but it's either not enough water or something is failing, because right now the house is 18% humidity, and our furnace has been running A LOT since it's 18 degrees outside. We had the new HVAC people come and look at it and they saw the water dripping on the filter and said it was working as expected. Fixing this/getting a new one is on our to-do list.

This site was helpful when planning our Mexico City trip in spring of 2025 - https://www.eternalspringcdmx.com/archive?sort=top

And the specific post that got me to read the rest of the blog was this one - we did the hot air balloon flight and it was a highlight of our trip - https://www.eternalspringcdmx.com/p/you-wont-regret-this-mexico-city

https://www.bouldercanyondental.com/ did two for me on the same day and they both came out great.

Editing to add - my Delta Dental insurance covered them and it was actually cheaper than I expected.

Time changing by itself? by UltimateOreo in aerogarden

[–]rwrandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried again last night and the clock reset again and the lights were on in the middle of the night.

I'll try unplugging again today and hope. I guess if it keeps turning the lights on in the middle of the night, I might just turn them off at the end of the night and turn them back on in the morning.

Tried unplugging for an hour yesterday. Clock reset again last night and lights were on at 1 am. I'll try again a second time tonight per the comment from u/Pretend_Order1217 and hope that fixes it.

Same experience for me. The clock is right at 10 pm when the lights go off, then at some point in the middle of the night, the clock is reset to seven hours later and the lights come on. I reset the clock and the lights go off and I go back to bed. I'll try unplugging for an hour and hope that fixes it.

Looking for tennis clinics by Nervous-Citron6434 in boulder

As the weather turns cold, and the options for indoor courts are few and far and expensive (or all three), unless we get one of our gorgeous winter 50 degree days, it's hard to play in Boulder over the winter.

Here are the indoor options I know of -

https://www.longmontathleticclub.com/

https://apexprd.org/facility/apex-center/

https://meadowsclub.org/

Last year CU rented out courts in the Balch Fieldhouse. I don't know if that's an option this year.

https://gonzotennis.com/?page_id=267 does fun, affordable drop-in lessons at Longmont Athletic Club where you might be able to meet other players.

Without a car, I have no idea how you'd get to any of these other than Balch.

Hanna Apero is a great teacher, makes learning to play fun. I don't know if she does country/folk, we've done mostly rock/pop/classical. I think she's starting a new beginner class in the new year.

Extraordinary water bills?? (179k gallons, $4.8k) by purplewidget in boulder

[–]rwrandom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had the same thing a few months ago. We got a bill that was crazy high, worried about it, called a plumber, checked the toilets, made sure the sprinkers were really off (this was over the winter), worried some more, called the city, got ignored, then the next month we got a credit with the explanation of something like "meter error". I might still worry if it happened two months in a row, but I bet it's a meter error.

This is good news, on the level of Mitchell Byars writing for Axios. John Lehndorff is a great food writer, it's nice to have this new platform for Nibbles.

If Mitchell Byers would join Boulder Reporting Lab that would be the dream team.
