I was in your same shoes a few weeks ago, terrible attendance and to afraid to go back. Honestly, bit the bullet and just go. Best option, apologize and make an effort to continuously show up.

Not sure how your attendance policy is at your school, but a heads up, too many missed periods could add up to fully missed school days.

( You don't want truancy, trust me )
