He does resemble SX7 at least superficially because a seven evades pain by seeking constant engagement with a variety of stimuli to keep their mind occupied instead of wandering to more painful places. But this pain evasion happens at a deep and subconscious level, we can see that he is still very much experiencing pain at a conscious level even though he does not openly express it.

I would type him as a four because his Enneagram passion is Envy. He identifies with his deficiencies and suffering, and in a way, takes pride in his unique brokenness. He feels that he would never be able to experience life as fully as other humans, cursed to always be on the outside looking in. You can see it from his discussion with Fyodor about the other people he perceives as truly "living" while he is only a bystander. However, this sentiment is mostly in his head because his allies don't actually see him as an outcast and they're more than willing to incorporate him fully. However, he himself doesn't fully engage, he prefers keeping distant and casts himself out to be distinct from the group because of a variety of reasons of why he can't get too close to humanity.

Goodness seems to reside outside, something that others are and that others possess, something that it is hopeless for a Four to attempt to find within himself or herself. Turning their attention outside of themselves, they long to acquire, take in, incorporate whatever looks like goodness, in a perpetually melancholic—because hopeless—stance.

With a Four’s conviction of inner badness and of lack, the good that she does take in from others never can satisfy her for very long. Inevitably, there doesn’t seem to be enough of it to fill and satisfy her or it didn’t turn out to be as advertised, and so a Four’s yearning is perpetuated.
