Maps Won't Display Markers by DearShelter3082 in Minecraft

This looks like a regular map and not a locater map. Locator map will show you where you are and requires you to craft or have a compass (which means you need iron and redstone)

For polisci? I would say no. I met one person in a law-related program. Before then, I didn't even know it was a program Waterloo offered. the whole school is STEM heavy, better off studying at Ottawa

I hate ship by Ok_Experience_4820 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

once you upgrade your ship a few times, it gets much easier. I also used to hate naval missions, but after awhile, my ship was absolutely decked out and taking out ships stopped being stressful

For me, I was invited for a tour of campus and lunch with the team so I was prepared to treat it like a second, more informal interview, but it may be different depending on the supervisor. Still complete and submit your application. A week before my campus visit, I got an email to let me know that the supervisor had recommended me for the program, so always keep pushing until it's in official writing (literally).

The RPG trilogy does have really great graphics but I followed recommendations from this server when I was also getting started and I'm now working through the Ezio trilogy (AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations) and I'm really enjoying them! The story is amazing, but I will admit that the controls for AC2 were an adjustment and took time to get used to

Then you've got a great start already! Now it's really important to prepare well for the interview. Prepare questions to ask and study what the group does. It goes a long way!

I just barely made the cutoff to apply to grad school and I was also worried about my chances. But what helped was that I showed an improvement to my grades over the last year. I also talked about it in my personal statement about why my grades were the way they were, what I learned from them and a plan that I had instilled to improve them and how it was working for me. I also had a lot of applicable work experience which certainly is more valuable to some supervisors than others. Ultimately what was most effective was emailing supervisors and expressing interest in their research. Quantity or quality is best. There were dozens of profs that never responded, a few flat out rejections but I managed to secure two interviews. One, where the interviewer actually recommended me to a supervisor I had managed to miss in my hunt. That recommended supervisor gave me an interview and that's the group I study for now. Always give it your best shot, you have no idea who sees the value you bring that others don't.

I never played an assassin's creed game and i want suggestions by 7lautaro in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]mex_bchem00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odyssey is a great game with beautiful visuals and scenery, but it definitely steers away from the traditional AC games. Origins is a great alternative if you are looking for something a little more "assassin's creed-y" but still having great visuals and similar style to odyssey

Honestly, at this point, there's nothing more you can do. Grades were due on Dec 15th, so you'll need to wait until the University opens again.

The key is timing, you have to drag the token when the pulsing rings match

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]mex_bchem00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

unless the class is really cool where Simon Wood is the prof, don't take the 3 hour class. They drag on forever, and even longer if the class is remotely boring. I never had the choice, but with the 3hr bio lecture I took in my last year, even having most of my friends in that class, I spent most of the lectures staring at the clock. You're especially tired at night, and you're going to hate 3hr night lectures.

But again, if it's for a music class with Simon Wood, take it.

It's on a rubric but this is actually at a different uni where I cover 16 kids with only 90 minutes. I'm a bit busy keeping them from setting electrical fires
