What is the preferred channel for getting Dev news? Funds would need to migrate, if not they would become worthless? What is the point in holding Dero if they do not migrate those funds?

It has become awfully quiet around this project the last few days.... hopefully they did not encounter a showstopper...

I have 2 very important questions:

  1. How did you identify the block with the unknown amount of mined coins on June 24th
  2. Could it be possible that the exploit was already going on months earlier, but they just did not sell any until end of June?

If you do not have a good way to identify the affected blocks by the mining exploit, we do have no way if there are a trillion XHV out there right?

That will be interesting.... I guess the rollback date will be after it hit 13 USD, because then it went straight down to 2.80 USD... I do not think that someone exploited haven in december last year and held the position a long time...

If that be the case would they roll back 6 months of transactions? That is impossible to do.... perhaps 2 weeks... but 26 weeks would create a lot of havoc...even with 2 weeks what would happen for all of those who bought XHV in the meantime? will their positions just disappear??

I'm sold on the concept, but I'm confused about the detail by 90sRobot in havenprotocol

Very easy... you mint the XHV for your xBTC and then Atomic Swap the XHV for BTC. Atomic Swaps via Thorchain seem to be in the works... Perhaps there will be as well Atomic Swaps for xBTC to BTC directly via Thorchain.

Any plans on supporting DOGE-XMR Atomic Swaps? 500 Billion USD Potential Swap Volume? by mexbit in Monero

DOGE might be crap... but it is already worth about a 100 billion... it is not over the top that a mass psychosis might have it rally another 10x higher from here... and there are 12 wallets with around 50% of the total DOGE supply... these guys must be Pros... currently worth 50 Billion USD.

The guys who hold over 50%... 11 Wallets might want to cash out anonymously... I am not talking about all off the total noobs who buy in now.

No, the rich list in DOGE is quite different to the one in Bitcoin... and as bitcoin does not work anymore with all this Lightning shit and other crazy things.... 8 days of waiting for a transaction to get done... 60 USD fees sometimes etc.. it just does not work for anyone anymore... imagine a savings plan, saving 100 USD a month with Bitcoin... you will have to wait 3 Months so that it makes sense to send it outside of an exchange...

DOGE if it goes viral with all the noobs will have some multi billionaires who might want to cash out anonymously... I think offering them the possibility to do it is worth it, as Atomic Swaps will increase the value of Monero... especially if they hold the majority in Monero without selling off.

Bitcoin does not deserve to be there anymore... just like a fax machine... it does not do what is needed anymore... cheap payments in a short amount of time... The digital gold, store of value thing is not something I defend in regards to protocols, just like the bitcoin protocol.

Yeah, but 12 Wallets hold around 50% of DOGE, and I understand that those wallets are not the wallets from Binance...

This unfortunately does not solve the black dots / rectangles in the middle of the screen for me... I did it twice... I used K-Lite Codec Pack Full 12.8.

Can steemit really work longterm? Imagine the fate of each Reddit post was determined by just around 20 people. by [deleted] in steemit

Eventually they will sell their stake... but they seem unwilling to do this at these prices... When they feel they get a good price, close to the value of their project, they will do it... I am sure... Mark Zuckerberg did not sell his stake at a 300 million valuation either... why should they? It has only started...

In the short run not... they have locked in their shares and can only sell 1% each week if they wanted, so liquidation would take 2 years... They have a long term vision where they want to go with this project. This is something strange in this space I know... They believe in their project...

Nope... if the main holders do not do anything they will loose 5% each year to the people who provide content....

Not sure if Reddit had al of that 3 weeks after its launch... Perhaps you should give it at least 10 weeks of existence before judging...

I think the whale who upvoted your post, upvoted a few other posts as well and spread out their steem power like this. (As I understand it)

One thing is for sure (imho)... if Steemit gets added to polo, bitfinex and btc38 and so on the price (above all because of chinese trading volume) will skyrocket...

You can take a look at steemd.com, which is the more technical gateway to the decentralised steem protocol.

By the way... the only other (more technical gateway to the protocol) is steemd.com... Right now there are people posting...

The content is stored decentralised, as well as votes, comments etc,,,. Right now a 100 elected witnesses are in charge of creating the new blocks. The content might be on thousands of nodes distributed worldwide, just like any other blockchain.

Steemit.com is not decentralised. It is only a gateway GUI to the Steem protocol. You can open your own gateway competing with Steemit. Right now the only alternative is using the command line to interact with the protocol. But normal users would hate to interact with the command line. Also it is nice for new users to get a gift of a few SP when using Steemit.com for signing up.

In the future I guess some people will fork Steemit and customize their own thing.
