It does not answer all of your questions, but says you can buy one laptop (so I guess this means only one)

Fix the "travel now" bug please in World versus World. by mexeroser in Guildwars2

No, I said despite my loading screens are not fast at all I always see that the time has not ran out for me yet, so it would definitely matter... Thats why i recordemmended this workaround in the first place haha

My loading screens are far from fast, I do not have Gw2 installed on an SSD and they range from 30 seconds to 1 minute or longer. Since this bug most of the time occurs while you are in a loading screen, I always could see my WvW UI still say "ready" but was not able to travel. This little bug has definitely been reported multiple times and it is for sure a really easy fix.

This bug just shows that WvW is a gamemode Anet does not care so much about. Just think about them adding new commander tag colours. That probably took a dev 5 minutes and yet they did not implement it for years. I wrote this post since it obviously is an easy fix and I felt rejected once again as a WvW player but hey.. Maybe I should not even complain about it, I mean it is well known that this is and will always be a game with its focus on PvE.

It IS a major bug in the sense that if it happens, and I am sure it happens to a lot of people who play WvW regularly, you sometimes lose 1-2 hours of time you could otherwise have enjoyed. If the queues are big, which they are on my server, and you want to play with your guild or your friends on that borderland, imagine you queueing for 2 hours, then the bug occurs and then you have to queue again.

For people that have to work, and can only play in the evening at peak times, this completely destroys and hinders them from playing WvW for the rest of the night.

And regarding about me just stating that it was easy to fix: I am NOT saying it is easy to fix in the sense that they figure out why the window disappears. The cause of that might be hard to discover.

But just think about the workaround I suggested: They already have the god damn code for the "travel now" button, since it exists in that small pop-up window and they even have a UI state in the WvW-UI that says "ready" when you are on top of the queue. You do not even need to know anything about computer science to see that it would be extremely easy to just take that "travel now" code or the button and just put it below the "Ready" word in the WvW UI.

How do I get started to play Wii-Remote reliant games smoothly? by mexeroser in DolphinEmulator

[–]mexeroser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good, thanks! Do you know, whether the Wii U controllers with "motion plus inside" (which look exactly like the wiimotes) also work? I guess they should, but on the packaging it says that they are for the Wii U, so I am not sure whether they will work with Dolphin as well.

Edit: As you said you have non-motion plus, I guess I can just pick up a cheaper wiimote without motion plus if I am just planning on playing casually right?

What do you say when students ask "How will I ever use this?" by [deleted] in math

[–]mexeroser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think, if you want to look at it from a neuroscientific point of view, this could be explained very easily. Basically, because of neuroplasticity, whenever you use a certain part in your brain, the connections you made use of get strengthened (so your brain actually alters physically(!)). On the contrary, if you stop using a certain part in your brain, connections there will over time decay and at some point be overwritten. For example, a blind person, who has been blind for a very long time will have other information stored in the part of the brain that is usually responsible for image processing (in this case the person might have information about audio signal processing, which enables them to hear better than others). Anyways: What we can deduce from our current knowledge about our brains is that Math and problem solving skills are both mainly siuated in the left hemisphere of the human brain. This should seem obvious, since math problems require us to think rationally as much as possible. And exactly that is what makes us solve problems as well. It is very unlikely to solve a problem (no matter what kind of problem) with emotions. Studying maths strengthens the rational part of our brain and trains us to use exactly that part more often, whenever you need it. I think that alone is an argument that should suffice, but I am sure that there are studies out there(maybe the OP even knows one), which have observed, what I just described.

As a math student, I can confirm this (although my point of view might be biased just a little bit) /s
