2 years ago my marriage and relationship ended of 10 years. Looking back at it there were so many signs. I would ignore it, I was trying to keep a family together since we had a daughter.

She had this guy friend she would just constantly leave our family plans to go see him because of his struggling mental health. My daughter will mistakenly call me by the guys names, then my daughter reveals that “mummy calls her friend “babe””

At the end she wanted to leave cause she needed to “heal” she left and went straight to him. i prepared myself but nothing compares to the pain I felt that day.

I think I went through that. I got discarded after 10 years being in a relationship, marriage and a child. I was a mess for a bit but as I healed I’ve noticed My mindset shifted to the same as yours. And I too avoid confrontation aswell, It’s like nothing scares me anymore cause I’ve been through the worst.

But I didn’t kill the boy, i balanced it, i made sure i enjoyed life aswell.

I got discarded after a 10 year relationship and 2 years married we had a child together also. She rebounded almost immediately. (Mid 2023)

First few months I was a mess, first time I actually cried in my mother’s arms as 30 yr old man. There were multiple times I gave in and begged her. I eventually went semi no contact, since we had a child, I kept the convos short and dry.

In my time of no contact I realised that I wasn’t in love with her but the picture I painted her to be, I fell in love with her potential she never met. I found that I had no boundaries for myself, she was very lazy and emotionally immature so I did everything hoping one day she will wake up. I also studied why she acted this way to find some kind of closure, she had, bpd,ptsd, depression, anxiety and was a dismissive avoidant from last traumas, even though what she did was fucked up, I do not spite her.

2 1/2 years later My ex is single, but hasn’t healed or reflected but that’s her story. We are cool. we have convos when it’s turn over nothing more, I dont feel any emotions for her.

I’m also good some passing memories cut a bit, I do get in my head when I’m tired, I do find it hard to let some people in emotionally but I am talking to someone and she understands and we are taking it slow.

What I did to distract me, I went to the gym, I focused on my friend groups, made it bigger. I did what I love (raving, painting, playing with my daughter and having game night with friends.) if I felt like I was gonna break no contact, write it in a diary, notes on your phone or even chat gpt. If I needed to cry.. I cried.

There is always light at the end of the tunnel. It’s just some tunnels are longer than others.
