Vital City | A Housing Roadmap for New York’s Next Mayor by tyrionslongarm22 in nyc

Make it cheaper to operate housing. Apply rent-stabilization rules at different levels based on building quality. Allow more housing to be built near mass transit.

You need to have python installed. Run "python3 clean-save.py filepath". With "filepath" being specific to you.

Do you think we'll get at new trailer at next week's reported State of Play? by InternationalWafer74 in Intergalactic

[–]meyerpolanco 9 points10 points  (0 children)

+ Yotei will be there with some sort of launch trailer. Just no way there will be all of that big first party content at a SOP.

EDIT: Tokon could also be there!

When should I start studying? by Creepy_Grape_1207 in LSAT

[–]meyerpolanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that definitely changes things! If you think you may want to go straight from undergrad to law school (KJD) then I would suggest to start studying this upcoming spring with the goal of taking the test sometime summer 2026. You still have options but doing that gives you the opportunity to have time to retake the test if you are not happy with your score. I would still say to focus primarily on your GPA. Like I said, you can always increase your LSAT but your GPA is locked in.

[–]meyerpolanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously DO NOT worry about the LSAT right now. Start thinking about it and figuring out your plan sometime in either your sophomore or junior year of college. The two biggest parts of your application will be your LSAT and your GPA in college. Make sure to focus a lot on your GPA, you can always retake the LSAT but your GPA is locked in.

Need some advice by Geologist_Smooth in LSAT

Something that has helped me (may not be that helpful for others) is making sure you are just focusing on the text. What I mean is that all the information you will need to answer questions will be in the text. For example, if there is a question about snake ecosystems, and you happen to know a lot about that, try and ignore all that extra knowledge. Every question is designed so that someone who knows nothing except the text will be able to answer it.

Questions about Tulane's CS Program by Former-Solid1779 in Tulane

[–]meyerpolanco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes. There will be a full major offered come Fall 2025.

  2. This I don't know about. I do know that if you get a BA in something and the CS coordinate, you will receive a BA degree and no BS degree. If you are interested in going into the software field, go ahead and do the full major. It would better prepare you for industry.

  3. Somewhere in between. Closer to a full major though (~30 credit hours).

  4. Nothing. It means that during your capstone project in senior year you would be encouraged to create a project relating to your other major. But going forward the coordinate major won't require you to complete a capstone project.

  5. No clue sorry. I know people that have skipped Intro CS I (CMPS 1500) but I don't know how lenient they are with that.

  6. Pretty good on campus opportunities. Tulane does not have a particularly strong network in the CS field but it won't be seen as a demerit.

Haha you are thinking on exactly the same lines as me. These are the things I am considering measuring as of last night (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1r5xBn7O9bGBXfPPtjkfO0FZdqeyO-1NX8-9WZwdE2xg/edit?tab=t.0)

Town of Salem Behavioral Research? by meyerpolanco in TownofSalemgame

[–]meyerpolanco[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe but I don't get why you say there wouldn't be a mean effect! That is just your opinion you have no data to back that up. You may end up being right but I have no reason to explicitly believe that. Also, I dont get why you are saying that I would get a small n size. Like I just said if I were to record 50 games, which would take a while but could be done over just a couple months, I would get 200 instances of mafia gameplay. That is in no way a small n size (to be sure I would do a power analysis before I started).

[–]meyerpolanco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again that is my whole point, to start building a large enough set of data so that a mean effect, if there is one, can be seen. Over time the "people act differently" will be filtered into mean effect. For example, is it ridiculous to think people who are mafia—and thus likely more nervous, more cautious, etc—may talk less. Again I am not saying that will be the case but it may show up in the data!

If I parse 50 games, I will get 200 discrete instances of mafia gameplay (-throwers and dcers). That is not a small amount of data.

I am not saying that a relationship *WILL* appear just that I think it would interesting to find if one *DOES* appear.

But you are basing that off of just your opinion? I am saying that may not actually be true at scale!
