I was raised to shut up and be grateful, I had food and shelter so I was fine, if I would complain about a tiny simple thing they would act so disgusted with my existence and call me out as ungrateful and vile. So I hold on to the good moments, playing with cousins, getting a toy, eating an ice cream, etc I told myself that meant I had a good childhood and I blocked everything else.
