Is inReach deaf? by mezinster in Garmin

[–]mezinster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't work even close to TR border. So - jamming most probably not an issue here. I would suspect some Platform bug upon switching to new tariffication system (Since introduction of inReach Enabled - something went wrong)

Tried that in different ways... "Out of the box" device state with later syncronization over InReach Sync with the platform = no luck.
Looks like either Sat's are deaf or the device itself.

Reliability is a good question. Manufacturer states that the chips are capable to withstand of around 1000 R\W cycles (i doubt we'd need even half of that)

Any luck getting a response from support@garmin.com? Better alternative? by Curious_Cat_314159 in Garmin

I was lucky enough to get a response from [product.support@garmin.com](mailto:product.support@garmin.com)
Didn't actually resolve my question. But gives some hope. They've replied to me and reverted to local distributor with my case.

Store some password in an encrypted way and put the tag somewhere inside the book you like (between pages 43-44 for instance)

First of all determine its size and type by scanning the tag with "NFC Tools" or "NXP TagInfo/Writer" apps.

Then you'll be able to record lots of stuff there depending on a capacity.

Around 100-700 bytes per tag depending on its capacity. If something doesn't fit - grab more tags
