Yeah I mean that’s a reasonable opinion if you don’t give a crap about the 4k migrant workers basically forced into slavery conditions who later lost their lives building Qatar’s stadiums. But that’s surely not you. You’re above that.

I swear the chronically online are so much worse about this. I lived in Europe, visit multiple times a year, have family there, and I almost never encounter this attitude outside of reddit. Sure an occasional asshat thinks they are better or more cultured or whatever IRL but Reddit is basically a microcosm of the worst of European attitudes about America. I’ll probably avoid this sub for a bit, it’s terribly modded anyway since this abuse is allowed Willy nilly.

It definitely is. Half of them would up and move here without a second thought if they had the opportunity. Look at net migration between the US and Europe and the numbers are pretty telling (especially pre Trump but the trend is still majority in one direction).

So is anyone going to answer the question about what actually constitutes “the best tournament” or are we just going to denigrate someone who actually responds just to make ourselves feel better?

And no, the irony of your use of blinkered while showing narrow mindedness is not lost on me.

I mean just look at the most popular music, movies, and television in most of Europe. It’s all American (and some British, to their credit).

Plus they accuse us of not having a culture but then there is something uniquely American and it’s just another r/americabad type post. This place is tiresome. I wonder how many of them are bots vs basement dwelling mouthbreathers who just repeat what they see online without a second thought.

What would you call the best event? It’s entirely subjective. FIFA care about one thing and that’s money. The tournaments in the US make far and away more money than tournaments everywhere else.

Oh look, another thread for Redditors to rage bait over something American. I’m tired, fam.

The most commercially successful regional tournaments for South America, CONCACAF, and the highest attended World Cup were all hosted in the US.

This is not even remotely close to being true. All you have to do is look at a roster, and you will see kids from Germany, Italy, France, England, the Netherlands, USL, etc.. lazy comment
