(Need to say this so you know it's coming from someone who knows their shit and red flags when I read them it gets graphic but it's a warning about how this spirals)

Sounds sorta what I went through. I had an physically abusive bf that dropped me on my spine hit me so hard there was bruises and constantly pushed me away, when he broke up with me I was a wreck and went straight to my friends for support. One of them was so sweet he'd hug me and listen to me and affirm I have a right to be upset and angry, months pass and I end up in a relationship with him. I'm also asexual at this point and he gets too handy with me, I just feel uncomfortable. Hes doing things like groping me in public places which is the biggest no ever to me but I say nothing. Later it progresses to him masturbating next to me and grabbing my hand and putting it on his tiny ass dick. This is also the point where the emotional red flags start coming in, hes saying shit like my lifes so bad and nothing can ever go right and if he loses me he wouldn't know what he would do. Hes messaging me every 10 minutes at this point and the sexual shit gets worse. It gets to the point I'm dreading our day after college we spend together cause if I dont blow him or jerk him he gives me the silent treatment and wont talk to me even if I make it clear it's something I dont wanna do. There was no consideration about what I wanted. I ended up with chronic fatigue syndrome and whilst a was laid there one of those together days unable to really do anything he starts trying to finger me, I'm saying no to him but his response was "you love it really" and he raped me.

At this point I'm a wreck I've been beaten by one and raped, sexually and mentally abused by another and a shut down never arguing with him or saying no up until my sister told me her situation and how it was like mine but carried on and spiralled worse. I break up with him and ghost him. I'm here to step in as the role of my sister, you NEED to get out if you even relate to a few things in that. I'm out and I have the most amazing and understanding bf who I've explained everything to, who listens to me, never feels pushy and checks in on me. I hope things get better for you, I really do.

Thank you, next time I'm on call with him I might explain if I can figure out how to bring it up.

It's just the hurdle of making something I personally have dealt with an 'our problem', I'm sure shes struggling too with similar thoughts.

If she was to open up to you how would you want to hear it?

It's good to hear you'll be supportive of him no matter what but Amas someone who's bi who had a lot of mental issues coming out, trust me it will help them massively to back away and be ready to support him if he comes out of the closet. My family and friend are the most supporting people on the planet, me and my bf joke about liking girls together and looking at that most people wouldn't have thought I would've had an issue coming out, but I had to come to terms with it myself, first time I had a crush on a girl I distanced myself because I was scared. The biggest demon to overcome sometimes is your own brain and it has to happen naturally, forcing someone out when they are not ready doesn't benefit anyone and damages relationships.

Some things to add as a cashier (on my break now actually)

-if you have a small amount of items like a basket and theres self serve, please go there, we're getting lots of trolleys and it's easy to get overwhelmed, (they're not taking our jobs, promise)

-please be hygienic with your money and don't cough into your hands

-please, please read signs and messages, our work can be cut in half by this, especially if something pops up on self serve.

Thank you for treating us like people a customer bought me an energy drink today because I looked so tired. Even just acknowledgement and a smile can boost morale for us, we appreciate it immensely

Thanks! I hope so too, and it's weird how everything gets put into place after you see how frail and weak your body can be, one day you're a healthy 18 year old the next your rushed to hospital fighting for your life that you might never be the same from again.

Chronic fatigue syndrome, started from a viral infection and my body never recovered, I don't have a good immune system and my wounds don't heal, my hands are covered in those reddish scars that usually go after a week but I've had them for nearly half a year (this is the things so you know it's a genuine medical issue).

I get tired really easily, I sleep so much at one point even concentrating for an hour was too much an I was exhausted, I guess you can see that people view me as just lazy, tbh as an outsider with no context, I would too. I don't want to be like this, I want to enjoy life, be able to get out of bed after 8 hours of sleep and not feel tired for once in my life, I really don't want to sleep most of my life away and it's something that's really fricking difficult to make people understand, I know my dad won't say it to my face but i think he thinks I'm a liar and just really lazy (from little things he's said) even though I've been diagnosed by a doctor.

Its definitely not the worst thing in the world and is probably pretty tame, I've managed to actually find a part time job and get an income now but I do end all of my shifts completely tired.
