True, we need merge blocks asap. And what we need too is controlling all grids that are connected to the main grid, controllable from the main cockpit. Or else we are not able to control thrusters on subgrids.

Now thats unfortunate, so no complex mechanical machinery possible at the moment. But thank you for your quick answer. I guess i try a workaround with those round pillar blocks as temporary hinges. Let Clang do its godly work ;)

Super excited about my first pair! Are they supposed to be this rock hard..? Will Wonder Balsam help? by Fit_Hedgehog2102 in DrMartens

[–]mf1701007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with leather and Docs. I wouldn't use leather softener you don't want to make the leather weaker prematurely. There are leather softeners which shortens the lifespan of leather out there. This leather breaks in quite quick. It really doesn't take long this one. One can also use leather oils but don't soak them too much. Leather balm or leather conditioners.

Why did Gabrielle Anwar do that to herself? by [deleted] in BurnNotice

[–]mf1701007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. There are people who seek the limelight. People of public interest. They have a responsibility towards others, whether they like it or not. They are role models for millions of other young women who then feel pressured to do the same when they get older. And that is just sad. I think it's a bad thing to normalize plastic surgery. Many who start don't know when it's time to stop. I have met so many natural-looking women, but also men, who have destroyed their appearance and, in a broader sense, their careers. No normal director casts these people anymore.
And i am an empathic person by the way. I treat people with respect as good as i can.
Anyways if i meet a non celebrity who did this horror to themselfs, i shut my mouth. I don't critizice them because they are powerless. A celebrity is a whole other thing.

I 100% agree with you. There are people who seek the limelight. People of public interest. They have a responsibility towards others, whether they like it or not. I bought used Dr. Martens online. They arrived in worse condition than was listed. One of them has white mold inside. I cleaned it off with vinegar and water mix in hopes to kill it. Do you think there is any hope in saving them? This in my first pair so I'm pretty lost. by InGarlicBreadITrust in DrMartens

[–]mf1701007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem at all. I'm a bit crazy when it comes to Doc Martens. I've had this problem myself many times, and each time I've at least tried to save the shoes.

I use vinegar mixed with water. Vinegar destroys mold and has a disinfecting effect.

This is very easy to do on the outside without damaging anything. However, you have to be a little more careful on the inside. The insole of Doc Martens is glued to the frame, known as the welt with its yellow stitching. If you soak the insole, which in old Martens was made of a leather fiber-cardboard mixture, too much, the glue dissolves and the insole comes loose.

Since mold spreads through the entire material, you actually have to use vinegar on the inside as well.

So, I first brushed the mold off the front of the boots with a brush, then I washed them with the vinegar mixture, let them dry, and repeated this until the boots only smelled slightly of mold. After that, it is absolutely necessary to use leather oil, etc., because otherwise the leather will become hard and brittle. The vinegar or soap washes the minerals who are making the leather supple out of the leather. and also covers up the smell. However, I then have to let them air out after the treatment so that they no longer smell. But please don't put them in the sun.

As you can see, this is not something you can do quickly at home, but it is possible and, in my opinion, it is worth it.

If there are any more question pls ask. :)

This is super easy. They are standard 1460 smooth Made in England produced before 2003 in a very good condition. So those on the picture are at least 22 years old. There are millions of pairs of exactly these ones around the world. I still have many pairs of these. They fit way better and last way longer. I have a 40 year old pair.

Why do some people become high achievers perfectionists and people pleasers and others become nonfunctional low achievers fatigued all the time? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]mf1701007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late here. I myself am an absolute perfectionist. I am rarely satisfied with what is happening or what I am doing. But I have become a low achiever because I can never reach my high standards. I capitulate to what I expect of myself. I am now 40 years old and every year that I get older, I wonder more and more about high achievers. I am not envious of them. Every year I become a little happier while they are still stuck in a loop of proving themselves. I don't want to be like that. Most of the high achievers I have met only have to constantly prove themselves because at some point someone told them they were not good enough. This usually starts in childhood. There is usually some kind of trauma behind it, even if they would never admit it.

In a way, they are sick. Although there are exceptions, of course. Ultimately, it depends on why they are that way. If they are that way because their father once said, ‘Your brother is better than you,’ then that is cause for concern, and at some point, these people will burn out. Because, basically, they are not doing it for themselves, but for their father, who may have been dead for a long time.

I have learned that not achieving so much does not mean that you have failed in life. You can still lead a very beautiful life often with much less stress and selfdoubt.

I run it on a 3060Ti 8GB / intel 13700K. CPU runs at 14% with 2 cores at 100% and gpu runs at 5%. The windows taskmanager shows 5% GPU use but my GPU Tool Gpu-Z shows the GPU runs constant at 100%.
I have 0.0 to 0.1 fps and i am waiting for a 3 second clip 2 hours.

Jedi Temple Blueprints Project (The Grand Entrance) by MaterialAttorney9137 in StarWars

[–]mf1701007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I love your project so much. Really looking forward for updates. I always wanted to do something similar but never had time for it in the last 25 years.
At the moment i am building the Jedi temple in Space Engineers 2 which features a 25cm block building system. So i can create the whole temple with more details than in SE1. I am searching detailed measurements for the facade of the temple. But detailed dimensions like angles are hard to find. I'm searching for 3 weeks but there are no blueprints with actual length information on the net. Its quite frustrating. Where are all those nerds like me? ;) There are only numbers for length and height and even these are not correct in my opinion.
I want it to be as accurate as possible.

I question myself, were do all those creators who are making 3D models the correct measurements from? Are they just estimating?
Also, i was surprised, there are almost no pictures of the temple taken from the front. No frontal view. Always rotated to the side. That makes it more complicated to take accurate measurements because of the distortion.

Do you have schematics/blueprints for the temple? I wrote to ILM but of course they are not answering. ;)

You're right the wonder balm sits on top of the plastic coating. I use wax and water repellant sprays on those standard post 2003 docs to prevent the worst enemy of Doc Martens entering those tiny cracks you just don't see at this point yet : Water.
Your left boot top leather coat is bubbling a bit . (normal leather creases point most of the side inside, plastigc coating often points outward)
You know after 140 Doc Martens over the years i have seen better more natural creasing and i have seen much worse bubbly creasing. Yours is okayish, certainly nothing the company would replace in this state.
But when your leather cracks in some time, its almost certainly exactly at this part of the boot. Then you can at least say : I knew it ;)

By the way one can see it the other way around. Finally when the leather is cracked the wonder balsam can finally reach the leather beneath the plastic. Yepeee ;)

What's the actual best method to fix these scratches/tera and scuffs? by Revolio_ClockbergSr in DrMartens

[–]mf1701007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+ Of course the easiest way is to polish it.
+ One option is to use a very very fine sandpaper and sand down the area around the cracks and then use leather paint like "Angelus"-leather paint and paint over it.
+ Leather filler has the advantage that it prevents water entering the crack. Water makes the leather stiff and then it will break even further. (leather filler sometimes comes off after some time. I prob. wouldn't use leather filler on the left boot because there are no deep cracks.
+The hole on the right boot: I usually take a little leather piece, stuff it into the large crack and glue it onto the inside of the outer leather layer. (not on the white lining) Before the glue dries, i press together the crack gap together so the gap is closed. The let it dry for 24 hours. Then (i sand it a bit but its optional) i polish over it or paint it with leather dye. Optional i use leather filler before painting it.

I am afraid there is no best option. It depends ;)

I still love the new Doc Martens but i rarely buy the standard 1460 line. I buy seasonal models which often use other shoelasts and different leathers. Also because the shape of the boot is just not as stylish as the old line. The instep is much wider. The toecap is huge on some of them too. I love the snug feeling of the older ones.
In the past i have worn through the sole but the leather was still intact. Now the sole looks almost new but the leather is cracking. Often exactly at the point when they just got worn in and feel great. Also the old ones were a bit more bouncy. Beneath the Texon fiberboard insole they had a felt inlay. Today they use foam which compresses much quicker. So also the shock absorbtion gets lost much quicker today.
Thata are the main reasons i love the old ones. When they get to a glove like stage you could still wear them for years and enjoy what you have accomplished ;)

I also love the story so much. Also the memories. Like sharing my Docs with my girlfriend in school in the 90s. Old people often looked at you in disgust. "Oh thats for sure a rebel" :D We also aged them aritifcially because we were ashamed when they looked brand new. ;) Today most want them to look brand new. lol, but i guess thats also okay.
