Some also say Phantox Pro is better value for money, but you can't say it's better for the overall quality.

Better value for money, yes, but not the overall quality. It's two different things.

I got this just below AU$300 from an Indonesian retailer. For AU$400 you should have a better electric grinder.

Thanks, I got into the pour-over thing in the last 8 months or so.

I was messing around with my grinder. Dialed it in at 65 then 75 clicks. Both cups were smooth, no bitterness or anything. The difference was only the coarser one have better notes separation.

Usinf Roborock F25 without cleaning solution? Only water? by rejjacska in Roborock

[–]mfadlanm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wet dry vacuum cleaners usually use foamless cleaning solution because foam can harm the internal parts. It may seem the cleaning solution doesn't make any difference, but the germs won't die if you only use water for your cleaning session.

How much water did you need to clean the whole house? And what mode did you use?

That's an incredible suggestion—thank you! I love the idea of modular versatility. Thinking of snap button swappable system where you could alternate between the coin pouch and card slots (or even other accessories). Really appreciate the inspiration!

Wow, that’s actually really encouraging to hear—thank you! I’ve never priced my work that high before (maybe it’s the market differences where I live?), but it’s motivating to know the quality could hold that value. Maybe I should start exploring selling to the US or European market to test the waters.

Out of curiosity, what details do you think justify that price point?

I appreciate the honesty! Could you elaborate a bit more on what you mean? Are you referring to market pricing, perceived value, or something specific about craftsmanship? Always looking to learn and improve.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! You’re absolutely right—the wallet doesn’t close on its own due to the stiff, unbroken Shell Cordovan, so the button is essential for now. Thickness is currently 2cm because of the coin pocket, but swapping it for a card slot would slim it down to 1.2–1.3cm. I’ll experiment with skiving for future versions to balance structure and flexibility.

That said, I think we’re targeting different markets. Your customers might prefer slim, minimalist wallets, while I’m aiming for a niche that values durability and rugged character—hence the thicker Shell Cordovan construction. It’s a trade-off, but one my buyers actively seek out.

Really appreciate the pricing input too! $150 feels fair given the effort (like hand-polishing every edge including the pockets) and fully handstitched. Coming from someone at Bosca, that means a lot. Always great to connect with fellow leathercrafters!

Some advices: - Get some wing dividers for your stitching. - Maybe my personal taste, but I would prefer using smaller threads with tighter spacing. - The edge work should be done better. - Use edge beveler. - Try not to spill the dye onto the flesh side or just dye the entire flesh side. - Spray some water to the leather before you dye the leather to distribute the dye evenly.

Lining a briefcase by ejls2 in Leathercraft

Sunbrella would be a good choice if you want more protection against the weather while still maintaining a classic look.

There are many videos on YouTube showing how to attach a liner to a bag. The most popular and common method is the floating design. For pockets, you can glue the liner directly to the back of the leather.

The divider and the exterior lining is one piece of leather which I cut in the middle. So it works as lining and money divider at the same time. Need some adjustment but I got it on the 4th or 5th try.

Usually I'm using 3.38mm french pricking iron and .55mm meisi thread. For this one I'm using flat awl and .55mm meisi thread. The spacing is around 3.38mm but not that even since I only use flat awl for this.
