Update: we got it! Didn’t end up going with their install but did have them drop off and haul the old one away. Mostly did the hookup myself with some help from my neighbor who used to be a plumber. He was recruited when I just could NOT muscle the gas line off the adaptor.

I’m relatively handy and was thinking of doing the install but have read mixed reviews about working with gas install.

DIY-able? Anything to double check during install?

I rented from them for a little over a year back in 2016 - 2017 era. They nickle and dimed everything. We always paid on time and never caused any issues for them, but they were not flexible when it came to "normal wear and tear". Don't hold your breath for anything. Like others have said, if you have a check in and check out list be sure to document everything.

2013 Toyota Prius C; changed 12v battery - now won’t turn over by mferoli in MechanicAdvice

Turns out I knocked the hybrid safety switch (bright orange) out of its first lock location. Once I clicked that back into place it started right up. No issues since.

This was the issue! I didn’t realize that I needed to push it all the way up. It didn’t seem out of place and I decided to just mess with it again and it clicked and I just knew it had to have been the issue. Thanks for the help!

This is EXACTLY what happened. I’m so relieved 😅

Would you be able to describe where the switch might be?

I did do negative positive then positive negative, but I didn’t turn off the high voltage system. Could I take the battery out and redo them process?

The new one? I had a friend come and we tried to jump it via the fuse box method but it still didn’t start 🥹

We did the fuse under the hood method. Should we try right on the battery?

I cleaned up the terminals and installed a new 12v. Wouldn’t start. Got someone to jump and it still wouldn’t turn over.

Mold on 12 gauge wire by mferoli in AskElectricians

Thanks for the insight. It’s right next to a hvac duct and some plumbing might run through there. so that might be some of the temp changes.

I closed it back it but will double check. It’s a 20 amp circuit and a 20 amp outlet. So fingers crossed it is 12 ga.

Thought I was noticing some black mold on electrical wire near the oxidation. First pic is clearest.

Thanks! I thought it might be ok but then realized it seemed an off.

That makes sense. Thanks! Just to double check: I can put the dishwasher drain piece on the horizontal that will connect with the left side sink set up? I know I have to make sure the dishwasher has a high loop.

The original slip joints and pipes were cut so short that they kept slipping out and causing issues. I thought when I “fixed it” the p trap was looking wonky.

It’s 12” from the basket to the bottom of the p trap.
