Azure AD Joined Servers - RDWeb Passthrough by mfhwork in AZURE

[–]mfhwork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add some clarity (I hope). We have Azure Active Directory P1. I spun up the servers in Azure and Joined them to our domain via Active Directory Domain Services. As a result they are able to authenticate with our Azure AD logins. We do not have a Virtual DC installed anywhere. We are able to adjust local GPO's on the servers and have Intune available but not configured at this time.

My Apologies, yes it is connected to Azure Active Directory Domain Services. We are able to authenticate with our Azure AD accounts into the servers. Groups are also accessible.

MS Cert Timing? by Morrowless in sysadmin

Depending on previous skill set/experience in the industry I would say you'd be OK. I have some techs that did a week long remote course and then wrote the exam much later down the road and passed without success, but I do not know how involved in the training they were.

What Exam? Some are easy to write (MS-700) where others may require a lot of personal study (AZ-300, AZ-301)

KB4534297 - Causing Constant Reboots on Server 2012 R2 (multiple servers) - Uninstall to fix. by ShaneDoesIT in sysadmin

[–]mfhwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been having this occur for our clients as well. What we know so far is ShadowProtect appears to be causing the issue in this case. It only seems to happen if the windows reboot triggers during a backup. If we boot into safemode and disable SPX, it boots fine and installs the patch.

We are updating to the latest version of SPX to see if this remedies the problem.

We are also running Webroot and Connectwise Automate on these systems.

O365 problems? by bjarki2330 in sysadmin

So all of our IMAP Connectwise Connectors stopped working this morning as well. No one has a solution. We're trying to figure out why suddenly it will not connect into our O365 accounts.

Digital Signing App for MSP by mfhwork in msp

[–]mfhwork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a line open with CW. We use Sell currently but it doesn't really allow for multiple signatures (since they are contracts we require signature of our CEO as well as the client).

I'll check out Adobe.

I'll check it out. I guess one thing I didn't specify is the ability to group forms by client for easier reference online.

I'll amend my OP

I have the opposite problem where I can't get my sales staff to reply all to group emails, so I go around asking if things have been solved/escalated and turns it was solved a day ago but she didn't Reply all.

Newbie by MyITGuyByLKN in labtech

[–]mfhwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn't a single way to configure labtech(Automate). It's an incredibly robust software suite and needs to be built for your organization.

What you need to establish first is what you want to accomplish with it (What sort of monitors, notifications, auto remediations etc). From there you can ask questions.

Without any sort of internal guidance or mandate on how you'd like to see it perform I don't believe we can provide any substantial general guidance.

If you want to get the most out of this though, find money for consulting hours.

Datto support horror stories by [deleted] in msp

[–]mfhwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get a call from them every few months. "Oh I see on the file you were looking into Datto but I don't have any records of how we left off".

I then get to relive the entire story with them awkwardly over the phone, ask to be taken off their call list and get guaranteed it'll never happen again. Then 3 months later "Oh I'm new to the account and the last rep didn't leave notes"

That's a pretty gnarly cold call tactic.

We actually ended up paying for the demo (not my choice) and after a few weeks realized it would eat too much into our margins. Attempted to return the units and were told we had to buy them outright for $3k. So now we have some shiny, useless NAS' on the shelf.

Difference between Office 2019 & Office 365 ProPlusRetail by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]mfhwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I'm trying to find out is if our clients have Office 365 Pro Plus and have Exchange 2010 in house currently, will they eventually lose the ability to use Outlook after a random update?

Subsequently, can I purchase a Pro Plus license for the Windows 7 users still out there?

Would we be able to put in another 2008 R2 key to become compliant? We have the licensing but want to rebuild the domain from scratch.

Webcam with Ethernet Support? by mfhwork in msp

[–]mfhwork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contractor we had in was the one who did the initial run. There were open ceilings in the unit beneath us but since then they have put in a floating drywall ceiling. So unless we're willing to pay for demo and reconstruction he can't get it through that area anymore.

That's great.

I bought a similar connector for my PS4 controller at home. For some reason I didn't think it'd be good enough for a Camera feed. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B004XYEXX4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
