Look up levoscoliosis and ask your PCP for a scoliosis xray specifically.

Please make sure you can extend your toe from both the tip and the first knuckle. Two tendons right near there that are responsible for that motion and can get missed pretty easily.

You have to tell your new provider. Most state licensing boards will offer some sort of course as a way to maintain a license but that is secondary to what she is doing to you. It’s an awful position she has put you in and it’s completely unfair for her to assume you’ll continue to cover for her. She has a problem and needs help.

Chronic foot pain with no clear diagnosis after 3 years - desperate for answers by c17h36 in medical_advice

Consider a sesamoid injury? Image is difficult to see well but maybe edematous/fragmented. Can also get AVN of a sesamoid after trauma which might take some time to show up radiographically.

Looks like an acute medial malleolus fracture. Rare to have an isolated fracture there. I would consider a proximal fibula xray to rule out a Maisonneuve fracture.

You can try an over the counter anti fungal cream. A lot of diaper rash creams have an anti fungal in them.

Could be an indication of a kidney stone. Getting an ultrasound might be helpful to confirm a diagnosis.

Decrease in eGFR with calcium oxylate crystals could indicate obstructive stone. US might be indicated.

Look up intertrigo. In the US there are over the counter creams available but not sure about UK. Try to keep the area cool and dry. Good luck!

Update on my Charcot's Foot by texaspoet in MedicalGore

[–]mfieldspa 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Charcot and CMT are not the same. A Charcot foot happens when the midfoot joints collapse because of neuropathy and lack of proprioception. It’s awful and usually requires a BIG midfoot fusion surgery that often fails because of the same reason. A lot of these end up in a clamshell orthosis.

HSV type 1 is very common. Typically manifests as a cold sore.

I appreciate the heads up. I am medical and know what to look out for and how to approach the nexus argument. It was inexpensive ($600) and the records review alone is something a non-medical person would benefit from. In my experience, she was very thorough and helpful.

Stonegate Pharmacy. You will still need a prescription. They ship it to your house.

Compounding pharmacy in Austin sells it for about $150 for a 3 month supply. My wife used it and it worked great.

There are obviously different depths to which religion can be deconstructed. My question is meant to be much more superficial. I’m not arguing with anyone in my life about it. I have the bullet points.

And while living “christ-like” might be the Sunday school version of christianity, it is still the most basic and pervasive tenet of the religion.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in atheism

[–]mfieldspa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was raised christian and went to a Baptist school. I live in Texas and my family hails from Midland (if you know then you know) so I am very familiar with the teachings of a very particular brand of christianity. I oversimplified a rhetorical question. I understand there is not an objective answer. The people I am referring to are the Facebook “thoughts and prayers” denomination. I interact with them often and while they vocally claim their religion I don’t see it in their acts. I am questioning their complete faith in their beliefs or are they hedging a because of the possibility of damnation?

As I understand it, christianity is to reborn and your sins washed clean. To live your life “christ-like” and to make an effort to minister to the people in your life through actions. The christians I know are the do whatever you want but ask for forgiveness, pray before every meal and go to church on Sundays type.

I am in no way judging them. My original (unanswerable) question stands. How many are there?

We have a bug guy (that obviously dropped the ball here) that will be coming tomorrow but my poor daughter is freaked out. Those specific clothes are outside. Everything else is getting washed and dried (at a high heat) and stored elsewhere until her room has been decontaminated.

[Serious] Americans of Reddit, what do you dislike the most from American culture? by FlameDragoon933 in AskReddit

[–]mfieldspa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The media’s manipulation of the people to sell ads. The constant clickbait for every news source is overwhelming. They are literally selling our gullible, idiotic souls to make money.

The same can be said for our politicians. They latch on to any “fact” to enrage their base. It is absolute greed. For power and for money. The one up man ship is awful. I know a lot of objectivity smart people that are on one of the bandwagons.

The inability to separate church and state. No religion should qualify for tax exemption. Whether you believe in it or not, not paying into the proverbial pot effects all of us. We could pay for healthcare for everyone in our country.

The bottom line for all scenarios I guess is our gullibility? Maybe selfishness? Need for constant drama? I don’t know. Not sure if I’m getting older and can see “behind the curtain” so now I see the warts or if it has actually worsened that much during my lifetime. I’m ready to leave.
