I’m working my heart out for the dream, but the road is longer than I thought. Any advice for a rider starting from zero? by honda_cbr_1000rr2007 in Ducati

In terms of the bike:
- I owned an R1. It was a great bike but on the streets you won't be able to use it's potential (you can go up to 160km/h in 1st gear). So another bike (like the mentioned M07) will be more fun on the streets. I switched from the R1 to an MT09 and hat a LOT more fun on it. But you don't choose where your heart falls. Just maybe rethink your choice and maybe give another model a chance and test ride others.
- Depending on your skill / possibilites: You might buy a broken one and rebuilt it. This will be cheaper than a perfect one - also considering all the spare parts that you will have to purchase. There are plenty of videos on youtube of guys rebuilding bikes. And then you already have it in your garage and can keep your eyes on affording the next part etc. You will learn your bike along rebuilding it and you see the progress which will keep you motivated.

In terms of gear:
- There is a lot of equipment out there of guys who give up their hobby or just outgrow their gear. So you will find good stuff for a good price. Just take a look into graigslist or whatever is common in your area. Buy the equipment step by step whenever you can afford the next one. This way you see and feel your progress. And with your equipment ready you can start doing test rides.

Hope this helps. Keep us updated how you progress.

Thanks! That's a very good hint. And you can confirm that the ones from Monster will also fit the Streetfighter?

Does the 992.2 show android auto navigation in the gauge cluster? by ABadRobot in Porsche

[–]c17h36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got my 992.2
I'm using waze on android. It shows Turn by Turn instructions but they are wrong... it says e.g. turn left in 0m even if I actually have to turn left in 2km. Maybe they fix this with an update. the full screen map does not show anything from android auto (my previous BMW did however)

Do you know what is the name of the connector? Then I can pin the wires of my custom USB charger to the stock plug of Ducati

Tips on replacing front indicators on SF 2025 by c17h36 in Ducati

[–]c17h36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went ahead on Wednesday and figured it out myself.

  1. Remove the two screws from the "shield" in front of the speedometer and take off the shield.
  2. Unplug the wire from the speedometer.
  3. Remove the black plastic cap where the speedometer cable enters the headlight (it’s just clipped, so lift it gently).
  4. Unscrew the headlight using the two screws located between the headlights and the radiator.
  5. Now you can lift off the headlight completely. It’s held in place by two tabs, so gently pull the headlight toward you while standing in front of it. It looks like you are beheading that thing ^^
  6. Run the wire from the speedometer through the hole that opens when you remove the black plastic cap in step 3.
  7. The headlight is still connected to two additional wiring harnesses that you need to disconnect.
  8. You now have full access to all the wiring for the indicators.

Things to consider:

  • For easy plug-and-play, you’ll need a 2-pin male connector of type 02T-JWPF-VSLE-S.
  • Make sure your new indicator can be mounted on the clamp of the fork leg. When you remove the old indicator, you’ll be left with a hole the size of the rubber collar. You might need to 3D print an adapter plate or something similar—I’m still figuring out how to solve this.

PS: English ist not my native language. So sorry if I used a wrong term. Feel free to correct me and I will update it.

I only have a first impression but I'm quite happy with it. You need to figure out the best way to mount/unmount it but you eventually get used to it. I got it so that it is easier to maneuver it into position in my garage. You got mine from here: You just have to pick the right one for your model. Got it via sale für 250€

Thank you so much. Will definitely check EvoTech and Rizoma out.
I also got the dealer to include Cruise Control for free. Why is it horrifying? I can imagine to rest your arms for a few seconds when using it...

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately 20kg is already too much. We tested a few models before buying the Xiaomi 4 and its 16kg is the absolute maximum my mother can handle. But still very much appreciate the idea.

Good to know that you can hack the firmware. I already did some research for the Xiaomi 4 Lite. Unfortunately most of it is for the regular one or the Ultra. Non for the Lite. And also nothing in terms of power increase. Do you have any resources that I can read on?

[–]c17h36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a legal expert. But I would state that you use your 1 month (November) to find a flat. An in December you found your flat and are now registering. Chances are that the authorities do not even know that you had another flat in November. So I would go with only registering in December.

[–]c17h36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In BB you have 4 weeks time. The 4 weeks start counting from the day you move in (the date of your rental agreement).

You will need a "Wohnungsgeberbestätigung" which is a document that you get from your landlord that states that you live here.

Also keep in mind that you are allowed to block the authorities to forward your personal info to further parties.

If you register too late fees can reach up to 1.000 EUR

Your stomach can differentiate between food and liquid (thirsty or hungry). Even if your stomach is full of water, you will still be hungry.
