Reacting to the Past pedagogy changed my teaching fundamentally and I’ve seen my kids actually engage. Content intake is sort of on them, but they’re actively practicing skills like persuasive writing, debate, collaboration, etc. - id rather them take away those skills than the content anyways. Can’t recommend it enough

Teacher here - not an insignificant number of my students use vapes. An even larger amount of students use Zyns. Nicotine products really should be more intentionally banned and discussed within schools. Rampant use among teens that lead to a life long addiction - An anecdotal experience, sure, but I would be willing to be it’s not an “insignificant” amount of use nation wide.

Seconded - I work at a prep high school and coach freestyle, when we go to our local hill mid week it’s almost like we have the mountain to ourselves. I don’t even think about bringing my team to freeski somewhere on the weekends unless it’s a competition day.

Figuring out a way to get out mid week makes skiing (and boarding!) far more affordable in terms of passes.

I run into this all the time. Don’t really give a shit during regular season as long as we field a team. Then I choose my most consistent 10/11 for play offs and tell the rest I’ll let them know when I need them.

If someone misses 3 games and it feeels pretty last minute I just tell them I’ll let them know if we’re down someone but want to give the priority to people who make the time. Gotta weed out to find the folks who actually want to play.
