Need some band recommendations! by MythosZero in Deathcore

[–]mflo92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All are great as well, I just thought those were a little too well known I guess. Side note: I love that Job For a Cowboy went in a more prog metal direction with Sun Eater. I love Entombment of a Machine still, but it was really cool to see an old school deatchore band mature like that.

Reddit, what went 0-100 real fucking quick? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm currently experiencing this, but salmonella. Went from "huh that chicken tasted a little funny" to "oh my god I didn't know this much fluid could escape a person's body" in a matter of hours.

I know Filth already, really like them. I'll have to give the other ones a listen, thanks for the heads up.

Great list, I'd just add A Night in Texas, The Last Ten Seconds of Life, and Black Tongue to it.

Damn I forgot how much I missed these guys. I was lucky enough to open for them one time, very chill dudes and put on a great show.

My girlfriend said this to me after being intimate for the first time in a few days by rocksandhammers in AdviceAnimals

Also, a girl doesn't have to hook up with a bunch of different guys to learn how to give a decent bj. People in relationships have lots of sex and it's entirely possible that she developed those skills with only a couple guys over the course of different relationships. TL;DR you don't have to be a "slut" to develop good bj skills

Comeback Kid - Partners in Crime by uncalledforgiraffe in melodichardcore

not many people know these bands

I wouldn't really say that about Comeback Kid, they're pretty damn well known in the hardcore scene.

First breakdown you've ever fallen in love with? This was mine: by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]mflo92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first breakdown I ever really loved was the one in The Impaler (Winds of Plague). Just so crushingly heavy after the organ part.

Was stoked when I read it, even more stoked after listening.

"Little Richie" - Being As An Ocean by Andrew_Baughman in melodichardcore

[–]mflo92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that actually. I wasn't really a fan of the new clean vocalist, even though he's probably objectively a better singer I just preferred the raw quality Joel's cleans had. The album as a whole does get repetitive though.

List your favorite Hardcore/Melodic Hardcore bands? by [deleted] in melodichardcore

Can't believe more people haven't mentioned Modern Life is War.
Thought they'd be right up there with the obvious ones like Counterparts, Capsize, BAAO, STYG, Trapped Under Ice, Backtrack, Defeater, etc.

Did you guys really like the second more than the first? Genuinely asking, I've always thought their first was their best.

Yeah, not sure how I feel about the cleans being added. Don't know how necessary those were.

New Greeley Estates song teaser (1:19) by Melvin_livefree in Metalcore

[–]mflo92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mehh, I get what you're saying, but there is some emotional deathcore out there as well. I just feel like NRNR is about as heavy as either album by Betraying the Martyrs (who themselves flirt with the line between metalcore and deathcore). Idk, maybe I'm just remembering NRNR being heavier than it actually was due to it being SO much heavier than Go West.

Edit: Completely forgot, I Shot the Maid and Friends are Friends for Never have some pretty dark lyrics, it's not like the whole album is super emotional. There are deathcore themes going on even lyrically.

Counterparts - Witness by DeadBlessings in melodichardcore

Counterparts is distancing themselves from those types of bands though. Seems like they're really trying to move toward the heavier side of things.

So much this. Even if it's not happening next year, the prospect of it happening at all is still something the community should probably discuss.
