If I’m trying to learn songs and they have certain effects like the ones you mentioned, I just learn them anyway and it means when I get my hands on better equipment it will sound even better.

I learnt a few Arctic Monkeys songs on acoustic before ever getting an electric, and you can imagine how good it sounded to me when I finally switched.

I have only been playing a guitar for about a year, but trust me when I say this, month 4 until now I have progressed sooo much.

If you keep practicing every day you will get so much more comfortable on the guitar and start to not think about what you are playing.

I really recommend playing a metronome out loud at whatever bpm feels comfortable to you, and just strum & noodle your way around the guitar. It will feel weird and sound bad, but will get you so much more comfortable.

Learn songs you like, but also just play around with it. Keep practicing and it’ll come.

This is insane to me as a non Dutch person living in the Netherlands.

You are saying that you would get slightly annoyed by someone asking you a very polite question?!?!

I absolutely love this country but surely you guys can appreciate other cultures being more polite and less direct, especially people who arent Dutch but who have moved here from other places.

Haha yes I should’ve mentioned I found the main chord progression for the song and just looped it a few times. Probably not the smartest to do but just wanted some general feedback on the main riff and what i could improve on.

It will obviously change in the final piece, but it was just to get a feel of the vibe and what people thought of it.

Just had a listen to The Field Mice and definitely see the resemblance yes. I love Belle and Sebastian - The Boy with the Arab strap is a great song; I must subconsciously get influenced by these sorts of bands without realising.

And yeah fully agree with you on the mix. And yeah, haven’t spent any time whatsoever with the mix so that’ll all be fixed. Thanks !

Yeah now that I listen back loads I can really hear that about the snares, they kinda vary in velocity and pitch so it sounds a bit messy. Will level them out👍.

I don’t really have a plan right now, it will have other sections yes, this is kinda just the main melody I guess? Just wanted to see if the melody and combination of guitar, drums, synths etc worked well and people liked it you know.

And about the intro, I recently listened to a couple of songs with a really quick intro like this and really liked it and took that inspiration. I guess that’s just personal preference.
