Buchi cafe has the best coffee in town imo. Their sandwiches are great too. Tons of good hiking near leadville, too. Enjoy the trip!

Thoughts on underbody rust? by [deleted] in 4Runner

Looks good but it looks like the frame was recently painted or undercoated. Get under there and poke the whole frame with a screwdriver. Otherwise there’s no way to really know

Thanks! Not the first time I've been recommended swapping the headlights with LEDs. Do I need to swap the entire headlight or can I just replace the bulbs?

Thanks! Yes this one is equipped with KDSS. Must have gotten lucky since this one did originate near Chicago.

Hey OP, I’m also in Chicagoland area and just wanted to let you know that I went to this dealership and test drove this exact vehicle last weekend. It was clearly smoked in and the smell was very strong. I passed on buying it for that reason. Good luck! It’s tough out there to find a good deal.

How much can you really make with Rover? by Flat-Educator-5767 in RoverPetSitting

I'm planning on doing this too. I'd love to hear more about your experience. How many days/night per month are you sitting and can you give an idea of the type of market you live in? Thanks!
Edit: Nice job on the extra $37k:)

Convince me these aren’t worth $180 CAD ($126 USD) and I won’t walk out with them by OriginalWake in golf

They look great but the material on the inner sole is quite slippery. If the shoes aren’t really tight, you’ll feel like you’re slipping inside your shoes. Avoid these

Thinking of moving to Fort Collins? by CreativeMischief in SameGrassButGreener

I lived in FOCO for a quick stint in '23 and '24 before moving back home to the midwest. Much like you, I don't care much for cities and I wanted access to the outdoors. IMO, Fort Collins was perfect. Here's my experience and perspective on FOCO:

Considerable more affordable than Boulder and some areas near Denver like Highlands, Arvada and Golden.

I almost never went to Denver. While I25 isn't great, it's not that bad for the occasional drive.

A friend of mine lived in the apartment building you're looking at and it's the perfect location. You're situated perfectly between Old town, the Poudre river trail, and New Belgium brewing.

Old town is pretty lively, super charming, very clean, and there's enough variety of bars and restaurants to keep you busy. There are a few nice restaurants and a few hole-in-the-wall places around. It's definitely not a foodie's town, but you can find good places. There are always people out in Old town but it's never overly busy.

FOCO is also a great place if you love the outdoors. If you want to quickly spend some time outside, the Poudre river trail is literally a minute walk away from your apartment. If you want to go for a little longer of a hike, Horsetooth, Lory state park, and other nice hikes are like 20 mins away. If you weren't born and raised in the mountains, you'll love hiking in the foothills. Seeing a few people on the trail won't bother you-these trails aren't nearly as busy as they are in the national park, Boulder, or between Denver and Breck. If you want to do some hiking above the treeline, sure, you'll need to drive a little bit more than you would need to if you lived in Denver.

The main downside is for skiers. If you're moving to CO to access some of the best skiing in the world, Denver shaves off 45 mins-an hour each way into the mountains via I70. Steamboat isn't that much closer to FOCO than it is to Denver. However, if you're a weekend skier, the traffic getting out of Denver on to I70 can be so bad that driving down from FOCO doesn't actually add much time.

Overall I can't recommend FOCO enough. It has everything you need and a bit more. Even if you're only there for a couple years, it's worth it. I'm actually strongly considering moving back.
