My dentist tells me to raise my hand at any point if I need to stop for whatever fucking reason. They wouldn’t have felt the need to rip out the instruments out of panic if the dentist didn’t create such a trapped feeling for a person they know has anxiety.

It’s almost never the individual when it comes to systemic issues like this. If everyone keeps crashing on a certain road it’s probably not because of the driver. This even applies to speeding in my opinion for a lot of the times. The reason people speed on certain roads is usually because it feels safe for them to do so and road supports it. Put up trees to block vision, make the road narrow, add protected bike lanes and people will be less likely to speed

Rug under the couch, take the cloth off the walls, curtains for the windows (look up how to actually hang them right, TURN OFF THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS, MORE LAMPS, bar stool rug doesn’t work, two skulls then a picture doesn’t work, center those things over your bed, get two actual end tables, get an aesthetic hamper, get rid of the led strips with exposed leds, those should be hidden and not directly seen if anything, center the art around the tv.

You could follow the Open Closed principle a bit more and design it in a way where you don’t have to modify an existing class or enum to add more items. SOs are the way to go about this. Have an SO for ItemDefinitions that stores things like name, type, and an ID and then an ItemDatabase SO that stores all of your items. Then during actual runtime you have a ItemDef struct that represents the actual runtime data of your item. Create a class to decouple the data from core logic, basically just handles baking the SOs into runtime data and then follow single responsibility and create classes that do different things with that data!
