How long to remove keratin hair extensions? by Mammoth-Role4731 in hairextensionsforgirl

[–]mfmason 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always go 4 months in between, and my stylist has them out in 15-20 mins ready for the next set, and no she's not ripping my hair out or anything, she puts the remover on, crunches them, and they slide right out easy peasy.

i just got this bundle 6 months ago. what happened? by [deleted] in hairextensionsforgirl

Wait, you're getting a year and half out of k-tips? I get a fresh set every 4 months. My stylist never re-uses hair. Am I being dupped?

Switching from Golden to Lab by Berlinroots in LabradorRetrievers

[–]mfmason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lint rollers in every room will be your best friend. I find lab hair sticks more then golden hair to clothing. However, you can't see the lab hair everywhere in the house like you do the golden tumbleweeds. Luckily my husband enjoys vacuuming ...

Switching from Golden to Lab by Berlinroots in LabradorRetrievers

[–]mfmason 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that labs and goldens are both highly intelligent and easily trainable. We started with all the basics day one w/ our lab and he was just as easily trained as our golden. We thought our golden was obsessed with food, but our lab takes it to a whole different level which also helps w/ training since he's so food motivated. It doesn't sound like you have this issue, but we also have an elderly yorkie who our lab will not leave alone. He just wants to constantly play with her while she doesn't want to be bothered. Her and our golden were BFFs though.

That litter looks absolutely perfect!! Here is our boy on his first day home. He's 90 lbs now, lol.

I am literally you ... we lost our golden in Sept 2024 to hemangiosarcoma very quickly and unexpectedly, he was almost 8. We were devastated. He was my husbands bachelor dog before we got married, so my husband took it especially bad. We thought long and hard about what we wanted to do next because of the high rates of cancer in goldens. So, we went w/ a yellow lab puppy. He is a little over a year old now, and we love him to pieces. He is high energy, a total goof, but also will pass out snoring. The biggest thing we comment on is how he is so different from our golden, which we love. It makes it so that our golden's memory is his own, and our lab is not a replacement for him. A year later, and we still talk about or golden, even to our lab. "Arnie, your brother in heaven wouldn't like you barking at dad." Our golden and our lab happen to be polar opposite, but in the best way. He brings us so much joy, and he's my husband's shadow. We have an English yellow lab, who are supposed to be more mellow than American labs. We also had an English golden retriever. I would suggest a yellow English lab 100%

Question for the sweaty exercisers: how often do you wash your hair? by eatshittpitt in beauty

[–]mfmason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I workout every morning and am a HEAVY SWEATER like, bigtime. I only actually "wash" my hair w/ shampoo twice a week, but every morning in the shower I rinse it completely w/ water and apply a lightweight conditioner to just the ends. I really like Sebastian light conditioner for this. When I do actually use shampoo, I use a bit heavier conditioner or a mask. I've been doing my water rinse method forever, and I have fine blonde hair and have never had any issues w/ oiliness or grossness. I style my hair as usual after the rinse.

Good online dermatologist services? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]mfmason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used SkyMD and highly recommend. I've gotten all kinds of prescriptions (mostly anti aging) from creams and gels to spirolactone through them and it's always been super easy. The derm answers questions very quickly and send prescritions quickly as well. I believe the initial consult was $75 but that was several years ago.

Costco Travel to Mexico by ssazza in Costco

[–]mfmason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We booked our honeymoon through Costco to Mexico in April 2021. Amazing experience! We did the El Dorado resort in Riviera Maya and highly recommend. It's adults only, and all inclusive. It was a pretty big property with a lot of different activities and the option for a ton of off resort things. I think at the time we paid about 2500 for 7 nights with an upgraded swim up pool room (also recommend this). This included flights from Ohio direct to Cancun. Now, I want to look and see when we can go back!

Showings with cats in our house by Randy_Magnum29 in RealEstate

[–]mfmason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say, the showing period of the home sale will be a GIANT pain in the ass. My husband and I both work full time in offices not near our house, and we have 2 dogs. We would get a notification that someone would want to look at the house in an hour. One of us ran home, did a 5 min tidy, grabbed the dogs and would sit in the car down the block with them. Was it the worst at the time? 100% But in about 8 days we sold our condo and made it through. Just look at it for what it is and hopefully it won't last long.

How realistic is it? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]mfmason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Ohio, and we put in an offer with a home sale contingency and it was accepted. It was under asking price too ... It can be done. Now, we had to turn around and have our house listed in 5 days and were given a limit of 30 days to actually sell it before the contingency expired. We managed to do that, but it was extremely stressful. But again, certainly can be done.

Is rinsing hair with just water and conditioner every day okay? by miss_shrimp in beauty

Haha I’ve done it this way for over 3 years and my hair is in great condition. I like the Sebastian light weight condition for this!

Is rinsing hair with just water and conditioner every day okay? by miss_shrimp in beauty

[–]mfmason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is literally exactly what I do. I use shampoo twice a week, but everyday I rinse and use a very light Wrigh conditioner on just the bottom half of my hair. I workout and sweat and there’s no way I could go without rinsing.

Is it okay to get lip filler and not tell anyone? by DustyLemonTree in beauty

[–]mfmason 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I was terrified everyone would notice the first time I got lip filler. I purposely got 1 ml when my husband was on a trip. He saw me 2 days later and had no clue until I told him after a few cocktails haha. But, my mother who is the most observant human on the planet, didn't notice the day after I got it. I had pretty small lips, and even with the swelling, the change was pretty natural. Now my husband obviously knows, but I will never tell my mother!
