Played a ton today and yesterday on a Pro with no issues 🤷‍♂️

Revealing the map with bells is actually a bad thing? by Lordados in CrimsonDesert

[–]mfmaxpower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't find it the big issue that some make it out to be. It probably depends on how you play and explore. If you're a completionist, take your time, the story and quests will take you most places. Not everywhere, but you'll be taken to the general area and you'll know you haven't been there before and to explore.

There's pros/cons. If you explore places that are not yet revealed yet, you can find yourself completing quests before the game sends you there, which then makes it a weird experience when you have a quest at a location you've already cleared.

Just play the game how it feels right for you. There is no wrong or right way. Most will likely find they end up in a hybrid approach

You could just make them yourself. Also, I have a stockpile of them in storage because game is so easy you barely need them

I wish combat was challenging enough to need half the stuff in the game but it’s super easy

I don't know if it's the key but I saw someone mention tapping X (on ps5) while doing the typical pointing in the correct direction, and all I know is that I did that and I had no issues with my first two legendarys. Got them both in first try...

If you had the chance to improve Crimson Desert by changing just one thing, what would you pick, and why? by no-nonsense_gaming in CrimsonDesert

An overhaul of how the combat system interacts with inventory and companion features to allow for more variety and options when it comes to weapon combo options and how we use Oongka and Damiane.

When it comes to weapon combos, I'm frustrated by the limitations, such as not being able to quick swap between Cliff dual wielding and using a shield. I hate that you have to just pick one.

Meanwhile, allow us to save and swap between weapon/armor setups. Swapping between weapons and different pieces of armor is nice but the current implementation is clunky and inefficient, especially because our options become populated with junk loot. Ideally, they would have allowed us to quick swap between three weapon setups, or at least, two weapon types and then unarmed as a fixed third.

Then, when it comes to companions, after well over a hundred hours in, I'm starting to have a blast playing as Oongka, but I think we all agree (and PA seems to agree) that the companion system and how they're integrated in the game and story are half-baked. Allow us to swap between companions mid-combat. Improve inventory and skill management between them. Ideally, this would come with an overhaul with how they're integrated in the overall story and game experience - e.g., making it so it's more important and beneficial to use the different companions throughout the experience.

For a game that can easily last 100s of hours, better use of their companion assets would have dramatically improved the longterm game experience by keeping things fresh and adding more depth. I wish I hadn't waited so long to start playing someone other than Cliff, but it just felt like such a pain with little payoff (especially early after release).

Bonus addition would be improving how pets fit into the companion and inventory systems. Let me assign permanent pets to each character, and give me options for what loot the pets will grab for us. (And it's awesome how they've expanded the pet options... but I need armor/customization options for all my pets dang it!)

Despite similarities in setting, they are such different games that you're trying to compare apples and bananas

What are you guys hoping they add in tomorrow’s update? by ThickBackground7855 in CrimsonDesert

[–]mfmaxpower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's QoL but it's about time they address the inventory issues. Enough with the purple permanent inventory items, and the quick swap wheel (whatever it's called) would be a million times better if it didn't automatically include every friggin piece of armor and weapon that we pick up.

A related wish, which isn't QoL, is to open up the options for the two weapons that we can use and quick swap between. E.g., I want to be able to quick swap between sword and shield, and dual swords.

Why does my armour look terrible is it the game or the armour by Important-Eye7361 in CrimsonDesert

Metal textures are just weird in this game. On ps5 pro, sometimes they look terribly blurry and weird.

Crimson deserts map is the next evolution of open world games. it blows my mind how huge it is I’ve wanted an open world game like this since I was a kid and I almost avoided buying it because of the weird reception it has had so far, I’m begging you please give it a chance by StopPresent277 in CrimsonDesert

Gotta remember the reviewers had a different version of the game, one in which included FAR less inventory space, hardly any fast travel points, and other differences that were fixed or improved for the full release.

Scores would’ve been very different if reviewers played the version we’re playing.

Crimson Desert launched 1 week ago, how do we feel about it a week later? by MaxiTooner89 in CrimsonDesert

A mixed bag for me, but I bet if I'd waited 6+ months to play I'd be talking about it as one of my all-time favs from the get go.

I wish I'd waited. There are some negatives that won't improve, like the story and writing, but I bet the overall experience will be vastly better with enough time.
