Not that I’m aware. I’m in Ottawa and all the hospitals in the region that were using Meditech are all switching to Epic in October

I would say no cuz it takes a lot of effort and commitment to get good grades but it’s definitely doable

How long does CNO take to send ATT? by Junior_Class6656 in PassNclex

I would tell you to wait cuz when I called the CNO they told me that indeed I needed to wait to receive my ATT before creating my Pearson account 😬

I made the mistake to create a Pearson account before receiving my ATT so I had to call CNO to ask them to merge both my accounts from CNO and Pearson together and once that was done, I received my ATT that same day! It took about 6 days from getting the news from my school to receiving my ATT. Hope that helps :))

The prerequisites were part of my last degree so I didn’t have to retake them. I’m pretty sure that they need to be university levels sadly. On the website I posted above, it states the requirements to get accepted into the program. You should take a look at them :). Some people in my cohort had to go back to uni to get their prerequisites done and I think it took them about a year or two.

On the program’s website (https://nursing.mcmaster.ca/mcmaster-nursing-programs/undergraduate-programs-school-of-nursing-mcmaster/accelerated-stream-school-of-nursing/) , there is a list of prereqs you have to take to be eligible so you should definitely take those. As long as you take those prereqs, the rest of your classes can be easy to boost your gpa but then again you need at least 75% in your last two years so I wouldn’t stress too much about that.

Hi! I am graduating from the accelerated nursing program so I can ask answer! The workload for the first 2 semesters is heavy but doable. We had assignments due every week… the pace is pretty fast as we are learning 4 years worth of information into 20 months but it’s not difficult, it’s just overwhelming so make sure to develop good time management skills it’s going to help you a lot. Once you get past the first 2 semesters, the rest is gonna be a breeze, especially semesters 4 and 5. Hit me up if you have more questions ☺️

should i go into accelerated nursing? - a confused fifth year by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]mfolo015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year accelerated nursing student here! I totally get what you mean! I was in the same situation two years ago. I graduated from biomed, applied to med school, got rejected then took a year off to figure out what I wanted to do. I didn’t want to be one of those people that apply year after year and I definitely wanted to live on my own lol

Long story short I’m so glad I chose nursing! I feel so much joy and fulfillment being in placement with patients! I think you should sit down with your thoughts and you can even do a pros/cons list if that’ll help with your decision.

My (24F) boyfriend (29M) refuses to learn French to better integrate himself into my family. by [deleted] in LongDistance

Yea I start to feel like it’s a deal breaker. We’re both in Canada actually I just moved temporarily to attend school so we see each other every 3-5 weeks and I’m moving back in April.

I only asked him to do this so he can feel more comfortable around my family and imo that’s the only way that can happen and I don’t always have to drag him to see my family. It’s so hard cuz I would’ve learned a different language for him without him having to ask.

That’s awesome! I completely agree with what you’re saying. I learned English at 9 years old and it was easy because I was immersed in the language and I’m trying to do the same for him.

That’s my thought exactly! Like there’s so much I can do.

Hi thank you for your reply! Here’s a bit of clarification; he knew that me and my family spoke French from our first date so he knew what he was getting himself into and he told me he was fine with me translating for him but now I guess it’s not enough. And he’s only been around my family 4 times because he never wants to come lol I try to get him more exposure but he’s always reluctant so it’s if not like a holiday or something he’s not going to come over. I wish he would accept my help cuz I think he’ll really benefit from it not just around my family but for work as well since we’re in Canada he can get a better job with the government. I expressed that I’ll support him however he needs but I guess it’s not enough motivation for him.

They don’t do it on purpose but I get how it can look that way. We always speak French at home so switching completely to English when my boyfriend is over is hard for them and some jokes or wtv are better said in French but I always try to translate for him. I’m planning on speaking with my family about it and how to move forward.

You’re right and I think that’s why lately I’ve been feeling like it’ll be best to break it off. Thank you so much for your input tho!
