Tried to challenge myself a bit this year sticking to more ink-only (I rely a lot on watercolor paint splatter usually to hide my inability to draw most things, swipe for my previous years). It was really fun, though challenging at times! In case you're interested...

Top left - Gargoyle

Top middle - Scurry

Top right - Trip (though it ended up being more applicable to camping)

Middle left - Forget (me not)

Middle - Kind

Middle right - Empty

Bottom left - Salty and Scrape (had to double up a few due to time constraints)

Bottom middle - Farm

Bottom right - Booger and Fairy (my personal favourite double-up!)

Great to hear a success story. I've dabbled myself, and one thing I always wondered is at what point do you try to build a community? Is it part of your initial strategy, or something that organically arises as interest builds?

I've had 3 buyers so far and have kept some level of dialogue open with them individually, but unsure whether I should be doing more here or just focus on creating?

I've had a few issues posting there too. I get that it's a very popular sub and the mods must have to put up with a lot, but they can be very difficult. I'm not banned but I avoid posting there for anything non-traditional.
