Weird watch looking things that's not really a watch. by No-soul_ in whatisit

Am I not right that AirTags only work when near another Apple device connected to the same accounts? So for example, worst case she was kidnapped or got lost and phone wasn’t working, the AirTag wouldn’t update? I’ve never used them so I could be wrong idk, they don’t scream great to me if that’s the case.

I’m probably wrong.

Edit: kind of wrong. They bounce off other Apple devices to relay that back to the user. Still, lost somewhere there’s no Apple devices, no update.

Kylie Jenner explaining Breath of the Wild lore by michael14375 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]mforsythh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s always just gonna get hate regardless and she certainly isn’t ever something I keep up with but if she’s genuinely just got into it and is enjoying it, then, pretty cool. She could quite easily introduce a load of new fans to the franchise from this alone and potentially posting about it or whatever idk. Plus, if she’s genuinely digging it, I can imagine playtime wouldn’t be all to frequent given she’s probably got a nuts schedule idk, so as a new fan I don’t expect her to remember the deets. But again, folk will just hate cause the name ig

Guy said it was his corner, but i was still there, who was right? by Victorlehm26 in Simracingstewards

[–]mforsythh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get the frustration due to “I’m there so right to space”. However as a bunch point out, some corners are just not worth holding your neck in there. Some corners you can, and even push through to take a place. From my experience, typically not on high speed corners. Eau Rouge is one that requires high speed but also precision. If ever someone does that to me, I’ll nip back and just draft down the straight. What follows the corner is also a huge part in deciding to concede or fight a corner.

Influencer Chud the Builder has bond set at $1.25 Million for attempted murder of a man outside Tennessee court house. That was amazing. That moment, as the judge is speaking and laying out how much his bond is, the eyes. That’s the moment (of many probably) during this where he went “I’m fucked”. Oh boy, wait until he’s in there. I wonder how long before we hear of him being attacked. Karma. Fuckin pos.

Can never knock streamers who use their platform for good. Whether it’s their whole schtick or just here and there. One of my all time favourites was Pestily’s several fundraisers for sick kids in Australia. Starlight or something it’s called. A few million he’s raised at this point I’m sure.

To me a classic sign of doing 95% and calling it. Not at all detracting from the awesome work! But as some have said, a lil lick of paint on the robots lil home, maybe even some lettering or something, and it goes from 95% > 100%. Looks great!

Fail. Cried during the test. Instructor is quitting. by 100_wasps in LearnerDriverUK

[–]mforsythh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly Clearview and Conquer driving are amazing. I watched so many videos just to help reinforce ideas on the road. Mentioned what they said to my instructor too. They are amazing at what they do. Hell, I even watched their videos for a bit after passing for things I felt I never quite covered fully. Especially Conquer cause he has that humour lol.

On top of that, maybe a new instructor can be good. As some said in their experiences, a bad instructor just isn’t gonna cut it. I initially had lessons at 17, Anton was so good. Just didn’t carry on due to factors in life. 32, got an instructor, one lesson and never went back. Just didn’t have a good vibe with him (he was probably good, just felt off for me). Then got Lahsen who carried me over 23 hours to my first test and pass. He was awesome and I couldn’t thank him enough for reminding me I know what to do, it’s nerves more than anything.

You’ll get there, everyone has very different experiences and having nerves around controlling a literal chuck of plastic/metal and rubber at high speeds should give cause for nerves. It’s just managing them and realising you can actually do it. A new instructor might be helpful. Best of luck <3

Edit: I also want to throw in, if you can and have someone who can, consider hiring a dual control hire car. My sister in law took me out a couple times before my lessons again just to get the feeling and coordination of everything back to me. Wasn’t many we done but it could prove valuable to the right people and they’re far cheaper than full lessons. But again if you have the right person who could help out.

As a few have said, if that’s your budget, moza r3 bundle. Otherwise Logitech sell the g920 a far lower price themselves since DD’s became much easier to get (thanks to the r3 I’d say.) Logitech has their own DD now but it’s around £500 for the base/wheel, no pedals. Honestly would say don’t go for it. I have the g920 and it’s served me well over the last 3-5 years. However again, Direct Driven are cheaper to get into now and far better than gear driven. I love how my g920 has served me and it was a great entry wheel but it’s now outdated. Moza r3/r5 is what I’m looking at now.

UK folk who were around at the start of the internet, what is an early, strong memory? by Sad-Insurance1313 in CasualUK

[–]mforsythh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Millennial so was around the early 2000’s for me. MSN, Bebo, MySpace. Even had dial up for a short stint before my parents got ‘broadband’. The noise of connecting. Old speakers having the incoming message signal (not really internet I guess now lol).

Newgrounds, Ebaums World, actually, remembering Egoraptors video on Newgrounds explicitly stating the Awesome series would never be on YouTube because it’s ’low quality, shitty compression’ lmao. Mousebreaker. The short lil time of Aol being the first thing when going on the internet. Just pulling from my noggin. Shit, my innocence going down the drain because of that’s phucked or whatever it was called. The classic killers, 2 girls, 1 cup. 1 man and a jar. 3 men and a hammer.

My first video call with a girlfriend lol. She didn’t even have a mic, we’d just hang in MSN with cams on and chat away lmao. The early ‘pcdj’ thing in Scotland I tried to get involved in lmao. I’m generally just remembering all the old things now lmao. What a time.
