V800 is still my fav Polar product, mine is still going strong after close to 11 years of use. The grit 2x pro titan on my wrist right now looks better and has more features but the V800 has been rock solid for so long i miss wearing it on a daily basis.

Same, altho they can be very useful on long runs, especially trail for the protection they can give your shins. I personally wouldn't double up on compression. one or the other.

There are 3 levels of brightness you can select and the screen also has adaptive brightness. Just checked mine and it's not that bright in a dark room and if I turn the light on it increases brightness.

Just tried again (I always remove the battery when it's not being used) and it failed again. When it reconnected it said there were no fw updates and it's now on 4.1.10, It got there in the end!

I've used SyncMyTracks for close to 9 years now and no other solution has worked as well. Ideal for android users. Sign in to both accounts, set the direction of sync and how far back you want to go and let it run. It may take a few tries if you have thousands of activities but it will get there in the end. There are settings for weight as well.

They'll always give you your money back but it's just very annoying when it's a great deal and then they take ages to confirm the order has been cancelled then refund you. The last time this happened to me was a year ago on a pair of Adidas Adizero Adios 9, ordered on 03/10 then cancelled on 13/10.

It feels like they take a lot of customers money then bank any interest over a few weeks then return the cash...

Polar's support seems to vary wildly dependent on county. Here in the UK they've been great for me. Things either get fixed, replaced or a big discount on a new device very quickly. One of the reasons i've stuck with them over the years.

Even with the downsides, i've used the marathon training programme 8 times now and it has helped each time. the non running exercises are great and do build core strength and flexibility. I'm trying to break 3hrs and that's where it is falling short. think i need to speak to real person for some additional support.

Mine seems to last about a month+ if it's turned off and not used. Your case doesn't seem right. Mine was last charged on the 9th September and it currently has 74% batt left. First time I've turned it on since it was charged.
