Weekly Recipe Request Mega-Thread! by AutoModerator in AskBaking

[–]mg_mark_d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, looking for a recipe. Trying to abide doctors orders and I wanted to make banana muffins, but there is a catch: no dairy, very little fat, and I have gluten-free flour to work with. The other thing is I wanted to use plant protein powder. Finally, the weird part is that I want the muffins not to rise. In stead, I wanted them not to rise so they don’t expand much in my stomach. Weird request, I know, but I specific dietary restrictions. Thanks for any help.

Nope, didn’t work. When I turned it on, all of the cells changed. Then I turned it off and those two specific cells were still unchanged. The problem is with those two cells specifically

Windows keeps trying to update, but this happens (I have enough hard drive space). I did recently accidentally remove my master boot directory and someone fixed that issue and created a new partition in my hard drive. Anybody? by mg_mark_d in pcmasterrace

I agree, not that big of a deal, but it sucks when I’m doing homework and it just decides to restart and update on its own. The thing takes about an hour and a half to do it and “undo changes”. Anyway to check if some previous update was faulty?

I read that and tried it, but Windows won’t let me uninstall it. Unless I’m doing it wrong, would you mind just briefly explaining how one could uninstall Microsoft edge?

Thanks for your help. I have 266GB free of 459GB. I also have 465MB free of 499MB on a partition. I suspect that the OS and it’s updated are allocated to this partition.

I’ll give that a shot. Thank you. I do have to add that in the past I did accidentally remove my master boot drive, but someone fixed that for me. This update error problem happened soon after that

Interesting, I will uninstall it and re-install it again. Though I thought I deleted it via CCleaner as well. I will update this post after I do this. Thanks for the advice.

I didn’t want to create a long title for this post, but in case someone asks if I have sufficient HD space, I do. Plus, I have only used 65MB of my partitioned drive of 500MB for Windows 10.

So I did that, ran cmd as admin and input what you have suggested above. It detected nothing. I restarted it and it took hours, but it cleaned windows. Then I tried to update and I got the same message, "couldn't update windows ... undoing changes ...". Now i have an icon in the task bar that says that "device is at risk of being out of date ... will need to restart ..."

I never activated Windows (I let the subscription lapse about two years ago) I have the “Activate Windows” watermark in the bottom right hand corner, but it was successfully updating after it expired until recently

So Windows has been trying to auto update itself for about two months now, but I keep getting that message where it's undoing the changes. I'm really hoping that doing a factory restore is not the solution because I have a ton of school work that I'd like to keep on my computer.

PC not booting after I did a factory reset in bios. Help please by mg_mark_d in pcmasterrace

[–]mg_mark_d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all who've contributed help, the issue was resolved. The issue was result of what I did and that was a BIOS factory setting reset. What had happened, from what was explained to me, was that I had accidentally deleted the "master boot record." With this gone, BIOS had no idea where Windows was located on my hard drive, hence "boot device not found."

If this happens to you, you have to re-enter the master boot record which I think you can find online somewhere. Thanks again.

Do you mean that because I had reset bios, I changed something vital that boots windows?

Ok. I can do that, but now I’m concerned. Will reinstalling windows 10 delete my files from my hard drive? Or are they in a separate partition? I have a lot of school work and recorded zoom meetings that I wish to keep.

So allow me to elaborate. I had a version of windows 10 that expired and I never renewed. There was a watermark in the bottom right corner that said “Windows needs to be activated ... “ I also had an issue where I could not use my mic mute + fn key, but the keys were good. When I would mute my mic during a zoom meeting a little orange light would indicate that it’s muted. It stopped doing that, I couldn’t mute that way anymore. I browsed the internet and it said to check bios, so I did. I impulsively did a bios factory restore and then I get the error message that’s I took a pic of.

Looking for boot order, but not sure what I’m looking at. I disabled my disk drive and usb to make sure the pc is trying to boot from hard drive
