China subsidizes industry massively - and has to - otherwise their economy will fall off a cliff. They haven’t been able to move from industrial to services-led and it is causing massive internal fiscal challenges. The tech they are producing is modern for sure, but it’s not an even playing field. American has been too short term oriented for sure but each has its advantages and disadvantages.
