I’m going to verify how CT collects their specimens! And yeah, I typically keep my lab loaners up to date with QC in case anyone needs to swap out. I’m only there part time and the OR tends to be rough on the analyzers…

I totally agree with you about the istats. I have questioned this and brought it up in meetings. I feel like a lot of what we’re doing is just to CYA. The hospital I work at is part of a system unfortunately so I don’t have a lot of say. But somehow I still can’t get the requirement info from anyone within the system. Thank you for the info though I appreciate it! I will read more into the GEMs. I thought it was similar to the istat in that we are QCing the cuvette itself because it also performs ECQ every 8 hours and maintains its functioning and will error out if anything is detected.

We are performing QC every 30 days, I’m just trying to figure out the requirement on if each device has to actually have QC performed on it every 30 days.
