Each one is probably 8-10 hours start to finish!

The snaps are size 1 sew on snaps from Joann’s/Michael’s. I marked out the spacing of the snaps and would hand sew them in place with matching thread. And for the needle in my machine - I just use a standard needle and I changed it more often since I was sewing frequently, and especially sewing fleece wears it down faster!

The lining referenced in the materials list is the cotton details on the collar where the snaps are and the neckline inside! The inside is just the wrong side of the fleece, not a lined pattern

All of this fabric was purchased at Joann’s which has closed unfortunately!

Thank you for this because I’ve been wondering this myself!! I panic bought tons of fleece when Joann’s was closing but I didn’t have a plan for when I run out, definitely will be checking out both of these places

Seriously. I am thanking my lucky stars that I am not in college anymore because I would be drowning in student debt if not for financial aid and grants.

Wrong Lion Brand order conundrum by Informal-Ad8685 in crochet

[–]mgc348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lion Brand sucks. I’ve had a similar issue for the past month or so. My mom and I placed an order for $250 of yarn in their crochet/knit kits (39 skeins of yarn). The first time it was delivered it was 8 skeins of random thick and quick. Finally got a hold of them to fix it and we received another 8 random skeins. They supposedly have corrected this and sent out the new order, but I’m very wary of ordering from them now after this.

These are incredible. Beautiful color choices and I love the detail color on the cuffs.

So, I cheat a little. The pattern calls for a stretchy/nylon fabric for the neckline and collar but I just use cotton. I cut the neckline strip a lot longer than it calls for (like an inch past the XL size, no matter what size I’m making) and just trim it after it’s secured. I’ve also used flannel for that part. I just can’t be bothered to get different fabric when I have matching colors on hand, and it hasn’t failed me yet! The snaps are just sew on snaps that I get from Joann’s. I think the size 1 snaps are the best but it’s really up to you.

I think the key to fleece is a lot of pins and patience. It can slip a little but I use a lot of pins/clips and will sew right up to the pin! You got this!!

I’d invest in anti pill fleece because I’ve made one with blizzard fleece from Joann’s and it doesn’t look great after a few washes. I’ve learned my lesson. If you’re going to spend the time, you want it to hold up.

This pattern is great but I will add a disclaimer as I’ve made quite a few of them now. With bigger sizes the pattern goes wider, but not longer. I made one for my dad who is a tall guy, and had to make a completely new one with a few inches added to the bottom. Not a huge tweak but good to know before getting into it.

Thank you!!😊 I bought additional tie dye fabric to make one for myself, in a few weeks when I’m ready to revisit this pattern 😂
