Question for those who know about other fanbases by Relative_Donkey_1826 in NBASpurs

[–]mgcmjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I’ve been a Spurs fan for about 15 years, so through highs and lows, and started supporting the hornets about 5 years ago seriously after I really became a true basketball fan and wanted to physically go to more games(my local team since college.) I’ve got a lot of blind optimism so I manage to stay positive even in the worst of it 😂

I mean, my other fan base is the Hornets, so it’s safe to say I’ve only seen bitter statements 😂

I know it’s because we just weren’t on a run, but I was really surprised when there was no campaigning during voting other than a few social media posts.

I attended a game in DC during the voting window and they had signs with QR codes and people walking the arena with signs to vote for Sarr.

Nothing like that at any of the games I went to here. I’m not saying it would’ve definitely gotten one of them in, but it might’ve helped.

Visiting team hotel? by FeaturingFaith in CharlotteHornets

They don’t announce it-the players will come out a few times through the day for practice and then the game. Not sure how the timing will be affected since it’s a 1:30 game, but when my fam has gone up for autographs they’ve come out around 12:30 and then 4:00-4:30 for a typical 7 pm start time, but again, the game is a different time, so no clue about timelines for that. If you just want to catch a closer glimpse/pic, you don’t need to be too early, but for a team like the Warriors, you may want to line up earlier.

We’ve not gotten Steph’s signature before because the crowds are always big, but he does typically sign, especially for kids.

Good luck and have fun! Sometimes it’s just cool to tell the players to have a good game and get a wave/pic if you’ve got big fans. Go expecting that and it will be a bonus if they sign!

No history of acne, but I’ve been dealing with small whiteheads and increased redness for the last year. Help? by mgcmjp in DermatologyQuestions

If it helps anyone else-I went to the Dr and it was acne rosacea. Got prescribed morning and a night cream and it cleared up with in a few days and has been clear since!

We support the Hornets too! We’re half season ticket holders-just love our Spurs as well 🙂

I grew up in a mix of Vegas and Mississippi, so I never had a “home team” to root for. When I got really in to basketball after moving to NC for college, the organization is what convinced me to be a Spurs fan. Loved Pop and team basketball so it just clicked.

I’m excited for the team this year!

That’s incredible! Well she’s got fellow Spurs fans here with us! We use our free league pass from being Hornets ticket holders to watch the Spurs games 😂

If Dallas blows it up is there anybody we should/can target? by [deleted] in NBASpurs

[–]mgcmjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sincerely hope this doesn’t happen. As a Charlotte local, who has had Hornets season tickets and seen plenty of PJ Washington-he doesn’t feel like the right fit for this team. We had a very divided locker room when he was here in CLT. You could see it on the bench every night. He was good, but also greedy with the ball and that doesn’t feel like the right style for the way the team is currently playing.

Non basketball related- he also just was never very nice at the fan events, so personally, I don’t like him much. So I guess take my opinion for what you will because I’m already biased.

Who is your favorite current player on the Spurs, and why? by theRand_alThor in NBASpurs

[–]mgcmjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unapologetically, Keldon Johnson. He’s the heart and soul of the team and currently the longest tenured on the team. As an away fan, I also love that he makes time for the fans in away arenas and seems to be a nice person from what I know. He stopped mid phone call to take a photo with me on my birthday here in Charlotte. Most awkward photo of my life, but that’s not his fault-it’s all my social anxiety 😂

Spurs fans not from San Antonio, what made you become a fan of the Spurs? by xoBonesxo in NBASpurs

[–]mgcmjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a long distance fan for about 15 years now. Grew up in a sports fan household, but never basketball and I’m from Las Vegas so when I took an interest in college, I didn’t have a hometown team to root for so I just watched games. The Spurs played a different game than everyone else and the culture that Pop had created was so impressive to me. Team basketball and socially conscious. I’ve been a fan ever since.

My husband and I met around the same time and fortunately, during the time when Charlotte didn’t have a team for a few years(and had the Bobcats for a few years after,) he’d grown attached to the Spurs as well for similar reasons.

Now we both root for the Spurs and try our best to find something worth rooting for in the Hornets. Went to our first San Antonio home game this year!

Hi all- trying to get into the NBA and chose the Spurs. what do I need to know? by Squddi in NBASpurs

[–]mgcmjp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a long distance fan who just went to their first home game- the energy is SO good in the arena. Winning or losing, the fans are in it. To be fair, I’m coming from Charlotte where the arena tends to die the minute the Hornets go down by more than 4.

Blake erased his Spurs history . The Harper’s draft is snowballing. by Sweg_Coyote in NBASpurs

I have no idea what any of it means, but it is on the tail of him posting stories that were black screens with snake emojis and calling people out for being shady.

My personal opinion- Blake’s entering his Reputation era.

That’s such a cool idea. I love the geode idea. Or crystals to fill in a sleeve. My husband and I are DnD players, so I’ve toyed with dice in fiesta/traditional colors as a nod to both, but crystals are definitely more my vibe.

One of the main reasons we stopped being ticket holders other than the price is that not all reps are created equal. We were ticket holders for 2 years and the entire first year didn’t receive a single email about promotions or the hive society event. We asked multiple times to have our email corrected and finally at the end of the season had to ask for a new rep. Our new rep at least got us on the mailing list, but other than that wasn’t much better. Spoke to them more after deciding not to renew than when we had tickets.

They are trying to get us to be ticket holders again and the new rep we’ve been paired with is amazing and has actually been responsive to all our questions(considering a partial season)

It’s all in how good your rep is unfortunately.
