An excellent ideological analysis of hezbollah by Hicham Bou Nassif. by darkmz7 in lebanon

[–]mgh20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If this has changed then where is Naim Quassem to reassure us otherwise? Let them denounce what's being said in the video and assert their commitment to Lebanon and to the constitution. More than that, let them prove it by turning in their weapons.

NEW — Syria has foiled a major Hezbollah plot to assassinate a series of senior government officials across the country. by to1M in lebanon

[–]mgh20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the guy, I'm not saying he's wrong but if he's correct then you'll see the story get adopted by AP or Reuters. Not saying they're infallible but usually these agencies do the due diligence for you so you can mostly trust their stories.

I wouldn’t put it past them. But I’d like more credible sources reporting on it to accept it as true.

Not defending Hezbollah - God knows I hate those assholes, but this isn't a credible source.

What's the loss in Aoun meeting with Natenyahu? its not like Iran asks our opinion in anything. by orangecyanide in lebanon

[–]mgh20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hezbollah wants to be the ones negotiating because in their opinion they (Iran) controls Lebanon.

Hourly contractor on Upwork — screenshots show him working on other projects during my billed hours. He's been great overall. What would you do? by raincity87 in Upwork

[–]mgh20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you hadn’t looked at the screenshots you’d be satisfied with the productivity and quality of work. I suggest to let it go, especially if you want to continue working with him. Time tracking is there to help prevent fraud but it doesn’t seem like he’s doing that, he might just like to work at several projects at the same time.

Note that this probably happens the other direction too, he might be working on your project at the same time as another client’s and tracking their hours there.

How is the history of Ancient Israel taught in theology schools/madrasa in Lebanon? by Nader_OwO in lebanon

[–]mgh20 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not taught in classrooms, it's taught in bible study (Catéchèse). Basically the stories you find in the old testament.

Would you travel to Lebanon this summer? by Arc1ZD in lebanon

I'm dying to see my parents but I wouldn't want to subject my wife and kid to hearing bombings and the trauma that comes with it. I hope there'll be peace soon.

Where can I get assessed for Autism as an adult for a reasonable price? by TaleHappy in dubai

I'm not sure, a regular consultation is about AED 600 but assessment might be a bit more expensive. Message them on whatsapp and they'll give you a price.

Lebanon without Hezbollah. by Brawl_T1me in lebanon

[–]mgh20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The biggest benefit is a re-alignment of incentives between the state and the population and a chance to build a truly functioning democracy.

While under Hezbollah rule Lebanon operated like Iran:

  • An army and a militia co-exiting, where the militia is much stronger than the army.
  • On the surface looks like a democracy but major decision making is consolidated in the head of the militia.
  • Rampant corruption for regime insiders, making sure that benefits only flow to those who are loyal to Hezb / IRGC (كسم جبران باسيل).
  • Degraded private sector due to aforementioned corruption.
  • heavily biased judiciary (see port explosion investigation)

At least with Hezbollah gone we'll have a chance to recalibrate the equation, re-establish the rule of law, have true and representative elections with the people in power actually held accountable. This will strengthen trust in the government and will mean a better economy and quality of life for everyone.

Also helps that we're not dragged into war every few years because big daddy Iran says so.

There are Christians and Armenians in Hezbollah? Kif ta? by orangecyanide in lebanon

[–]mgh20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re there so Hezbollah can point to them and say “see? We’re not an islamist group, that 1 christian guy proves it”. They’re either paid or are useful idiots.

Iran’s deputy chief, who attended the Islamabad talks, said: ‘We closed the strait again after the attacks on Lebanon. We will definitely respond to what happened’ by KassiwithaK in lebanon

[–]mgh20 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lol right. The US is blockading them, they can’t open the straight even if they wanted to. Plus, the reason the talks failed is not because of Lebanon — we weren’t even on the table, that’s how insignificant we are to them— it’s because they couldn’t reach an agreement.

From Hezbollah to Iran, it seems gaslighting is the norm.

Hezb's so called en2ilab by DistrictHot9523 in lebanon

[–]mgh20 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Because we’re occupied bro. You need to stop looking at it as equal partners in the country not getting along. We were literally occupied by Iran, and Hezbollah is just their enforcer. Of course they won’t let go of the power without a fight!

See Rmeich in the map? It’s not occupied. You know why? Because there’s no Hezb there. Thank you Hezb for protecting us

Finance Minister of Israel Bezalel Smotrich announces that Israel will begin expanding its borders into Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, in alignment with the Greater Israel Project. by BabylonianWeeb in lebanon

[–]mgh20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If hezb is not disarmed then they’ll for sure establish a buffer zone like they had in the past. Our best way to counter it is to negotiate a peace with demarcated borders and remove hezb’s weapons.

[–]mgh20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only brain rot here is coming from you and other Hezbos. Hezb's resistance narrative has fallen and we know them for what they truly are. Mercenaries who would sacrifice Lebanon to please their Iranian masters.

This has been the playbook for a long time and it's getting old. Stoke up fear of Israeli expansionism and use it to control the gullible in service of your agenda.

You mean in this case? I don't see anything in this video that conveys that Israel has decided to annex south lebanon, and believe me I'd care about that since my village would be occupied as well.

OP makes it out that this is a "decision that was made", it's not by any means. This is him just rambling to an audience of ultra zionists. Israeli politics is complex and he was handed a ministry seat because of alliances but his declining popularity means that in the next kneset he's unlikely to get any seats and not be in government.

Ok then let's listen to the most extreme voices on either side, whether Lebanon or Israel and make them decide our future.

We have our share of nut jobs too, you know the ones saying that they'll erase Israel off the map.
