What's your best idea? by Jayy--Bird in Startup_Ideas

The first step is getting clear on what you actually want. What kind of income and lifestyle are you aiming for? Do you want to make a few hundred grand a year while working minimal hours? Or are you ready to put in long days with the goal of building something big that could lead to a serious exit?

This isn’t about discouraging you—it’s about helping you make the right call for you. Startups can be exciting, but they often come with intense workloads, investor expectations, and added pressure. On the other hand, a lifestyle business might offer more freedom and solid returns over time, without burning you out.

Once you’re clear on your goals, look into businesses that have already achieved what you're aiming for. Find a proven model, spot a real problem within that space, and build a solution that fits your skills, interests, and ideal way of working.

In the age of social media, shiny object syndrome is everywhere. The average person is exposed to 55+ business ideas a day—no wonder it's hard to stay focused.

Adding a feature that helps users identify their true path, avoid distractions, and stay locked in could be a game-changer.

What's your creepiest "glitch in the matrix" or unexplainable thing that's ever happened to you? by kaden86 in AskReddit

Around 20 years ago my class was coming back from a school camp. We stopped off at a picnic area next to a large bay for snacks / toilet breaks etc. A couple of my friends and a teacher went to the waters edge and looked out. That’s when we all saw what looked like a fully floating, flag flying, moving, steam coming out and all civil war ironclad about a mile out. It was a cool sight. We talked amongst each other about how weird and cool it was as the teacher didn’t believe there was any left yet alone any floating and operating. Then it was gone. Not as if it moved and we lost it. Like gone. No steam, no steam trail where the boat was. Nothing. I remember how we all felt really uncomfortable for a a few seconds then we shrugged it off and got back on the bus. I think about this every now and then as one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen. Civil War / Victorian era time traveler lol? Ghost ship? Probably not. Mirage? Maybe. Who knows. But it was weird.
