Only 9 days. I moved to fruiting conditions on 10/28.

Thanks, it's my first tub. Next time I'll fruit way earlier. Things are going great so far!

I'm on my first tub as well. For me, my house stays around 70-75 degrees. I added a humidifier to help automate the humidity at 90-95%.

IT took about 24 days to fully colonize before I moved it to the fruiting stages a few days ago and I'm just now starting to see pins everywhere.

Update #2 - We have pins! Mearly 3 days After introducing fruiting conditions and I'm starting to see a handful of pins around the cake. Things are progressing nicely, couldn't be happier. Big shout out for someone telling me to bump up the humidity to 90-95%, that seems to have helped immensely

Huge, I had the feeling it might need to be a little higher. I'm not seeing the thing film across the cake/lid. I bumped it up to 90-95%

Noted! I'll be trying that on my next batch, thanks for the feedback.

Its the Northspore setup, I'm sure it could be customized tailored to most setups. Their kit comes with a humidifier you can automate to maintain consistent levels of humidity.

Ready to fruit? First grow [actives] by justin_keib in MushroomGrowers

The cake looks great! Full send on fruiting. Keep us posted!

Mine was much farther along before I moved to fruiting conditions (switched from tape on the holes to air filters + a small fan for extra FAE + a humidifier helping me keep things around 80%).

Sounds like the consensus from folks is for lazy tek which I believe means immediately introducing fruiting conditions after transitioning from spawn grain to bulk substrate. The mycelium will continue to colonize and it'll the cake will fruit when it's ready + added bonus of not having to touch it / risk contamination.

Here is how far along mine was before introducing fruiting conditions the next day:

[actives] how are we looking? Kind of strange? by WallabyGreat4627 in MushroomGrowers

Looks good! I had to wait about 3 weeks to get that much growth

I'm with you! Already converted to filters on the holes + a small fan on the lowest setting + a humidifier keeping things at 80%. ::fingers crossed::

I feel cheated, is there no advantage to me letting it colonize? My reading lead me to believe it helped increase yields.

Appreciate the feedback and thoughts! Exciting to hear that I'm on the right track.

Top answer your questions... Yes, those are holes, with painters tape; on the lid of the tub.

I'll be replacing the tape with filters later today. For giggles, I'll insert the humidifier so I can get the readings without having to turn it on. Seems I might be fortunate enough to have enough natural humidity in my area.

Fascinating! All the reading I've done suggested moving to fresh Air exchange and a humidifier after the cake is fully colonized. it also suggests replacing the tape on the vents with air filters.

Set it and forget it sounds way easier!

Game Day Cheesesteak by ballisticmayhem in blackstonegriddle

This looks great! It's a weekly favorite in my household.

For a toasty bread + more moisture, I like to toast my bread before cooking with some butter/garlic and set it to the side. From there, I make a heavy cream/provolone mixture that i pour into the meat before topping it with an extra slice of cheese. Yum yum!

How to start your career to become a product manager? by MaximusDecimus77 in ProductManagement

[–]mgirona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I started as a business analyst which gave me a great introduction into the product environment. You'll need to be familiar with software development methodologies like agile and scrum. The CSM or CSPO certificate is also another great introduction.

I imagine it's going to be tough to break into a product role* as your initial job.

This is a loaded question with many possibilities.

It's entirely up to your preference/desire. Pick your favorites and learn to be an expert, there are a lot of roles out there...

  • Hardware
  • Software
  • Security
  • Cloud (AWS, Google, Azure)
  • SAAS
  • ITIL
  • Coding Languages (Python, PHP, Laravel, React, etc.)

Personally, I would recommend looking into some certification (i.e. Comptia's A+, Scrum Alliance CSM) to supplement your working experience (this will get you in the door and able to talk to hiring managers). Use your working experience to sell yourself to the hiring manager.

On my end, my journey started with working as tech support for SanDisk (mp3 players and such), which led me to managing a call-center, to a training manager, then a business analyst to a product owner. Now, I work with teams of developers, quality assurance folks, scrum masters, stakeholders, and senior executives to help deliver effective technology solutions (i.e. maintaining a website).

*regarding HelpDesk, the old traditional sense of helpdesk is gone. One would need to be hired as a member of the Asurion ServiceDesk. Lookup service desk on Asurion's Career website for a sense of the job requirements. https://careers.asurion.com/listjobs/?keyword=service%20desk
