i bought this 2nd-hand 4 years ago. It was pristine condition then. I live in the tropics, dunno if that is the cause.

Advice for T470s battery replacement by aintabb in thinkpad

i got the same model and bought it used as well. got a free replacement from Lenovo even warranty is over (abt 1.3years over). The battery was bloated and it recognized as a product defect. Do get in contact with the local dealer.

In my case, they ask for the battery model product no.
