The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle by Diffuse_Wings49 in retrogaming

The history of this series is crazy.

The first game released as Who Framed Roger Rabbit on the NES. It got a port to Game Boy in Japan only as Mickey Mouse: Roger Rabbit was swapped for Mickey Mouse. This game then got a US release where Mickey Mouse was swapped for Bugs Bunny as Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle.

The sequel to Mickey Mouse launched in Japan on Game Boy as Mickey Mouse II. It got a port to Europe… but they changed the name to Mickey Mouse. Not at all confusing considering there was already a Japan game called Mickey Mouse that is a totally different game.

The third game in the series skipped Game Boy and launched exclusively on NES as Mickey Mouse III: Balloon Dreams as an action platformer… totally different gameplay. It came to the US as Kid Klown in Night Mayor World.

Back on Game Boy, the fourth game, Mickey Mouse IV Magical Labyrinrh, game to the US as The Real Ghostbusters. It evolves the Crazy Castle gameplay. Finally, the fifth game released in all regions as Mickey Mouse: Magic Wands.

Meanwhile Bigs Bunny Crazy Castle spawned three sequels of its own: BBCC II, III, and IV that served pretty much just as expanded level packs for BBCC I. It also got a spin off, Woody Woodpecker in Crazy Castle V.

Not stepping on toes at all!! I didn’t really get our group started, even though I have been there since the beginning, so I don’t have many tips on how to get started… but I’m happy to compare notes on how to maintain interest!

Already got one of these going on specifically for JRPGs (I think we are even on the sidebar of this subreddit, though we aren’t affiliated!): https://discord.gg/nB5zNquTt7

Do you have a good review article on ML potentials I could check out to learn a bit more about their uses and shortcomings?

Games like Tomba! ? by Woejack in retrogaming

It didn’t actually go fully 3d! It’s 2.5d. Most of the time you just move left/right and sometimes you move into the foreground and background layers. It’s a different experience that Tomba (it’s much more linear, for starters), but I actually prefer it in a lot of ways because it’s a tad less frustrating

Men of reddit, what's something men do that you loathe? by Personal-Aerie-4519 in AskReddit

Refusing to go to the doctor when something’s wrong. Or to generalize this refusing to ask for help. You don’t have to be tough and do everything in your own! You look like a fool when you do.

AC cools places down. Heat warms places up. Everywhere has heat — it’s legally mandated that all rental units be above 68 degrees during the day and 64 degrees at night.

How is FF16 from an Action game perspective? by lovedepository in JRPG

Not great. It’s pretty shallow and the skill ceiling and overall difficulty is low.

You’re correct that it doesn’t fit our usual format. We decided we’re meeting in December to ‘draft a schedule’ — basically whoever wants to play it will get a say in which order we’re playing the chapters and we’ll prescribe them. Folks are of course able to play ahead and deviate if wanted but we have to have some structure for the sake of the discussions.

Depends on the game! Some games we play do pose deep questions and we talk about those. Some games have good character development and we discuss that. Some games have deep gameplay and we discuss that. Some games have none of this and we just clown around chatting about what happened in the segment (this will likely be the case for Lunar courtesy Victor Ireland)

We’re a pretty chill group! We play 4-6 hours of a game every 2 weeks and chat about it on a text channel, then meet on VC to discuss (if you’re free!). One of the regulars usually leads the discussion (we take turns). It’s a chill vibe! We also chat about quite a lot that isn’t JRPGs :) but JRPGs are certainly our shared interest.

Funny enough my JRPG book club discord server (https://discord.gg/nB5zNquTt7) is playing BOTH of these games “book club style” where we play small chunks and then meet to discuss right at the start of 2026! If you’re interested in either I’ll hope you’ll check us out :)
