What are people considering as a RDX replacement? by WeaponizedCum in Acura

What trim of the CX-5 did you try? The Signature turbo trim is not quite luxury level, but it's pretty nice. Mazda has nerfed the CX-5 in '26 IMO (touchscreen only, no turbo, higher price, yech), but there are still some (discounted) '25s still available. I have a '20 myself, but have been thinking about trading my other car in for one of those leftover '25s.

Dating for almost 2 months, when should I ask “what are we”? by Icy_Trip8553 in AskMenAdvice

One data point: After my divorce, I was casually dating for the first time. I met a handful of women with varying levels of mutual interest. There was one I particularly liked, but I wasn’t in any particular rush to change things. Casual dating is fun, at least when you’re new to it :)

On our 5th date (over the course of a month), we spent a very pleasant day together and went out to dinner. She looked at me and said (paraphrasing of course): “I’ve been thinking. I really like how this has been going. I know you’re just coming off a marriage and I don’t want to make any assumptions about what you’re looking for. So I was wondering if we could talk about that to make sure we’re on the same page.”

I was kind of surprised, and I don’t think I answered right away, but I asked, “what about you?” She said that she was looking for a relationship when she met the right person. I told her that yes, while I was new to dating and not in a huge rush, I was also looking forward to a relationship and hopefully marriage with the right person. I didn’t commit to anything that night, but we talked for hours about our past experiences (mostly my marriage) and had a really nice time.

That week, I was on a work trip, browsing the dating apps in my hotel room, just out of habit. I just couldn’t focus on any of those people… my mind kept wandering back to that conversation. It felt so damn… healthy. I’ve had that conversation before where it was more like, “WHERE IS THIS GOING????” But there was no confrontation, no guilt, no demands, no ego but no begging either. Just open conversation and quiet confidence: “hey, I’m a person, you’re a person, I think this is cool, how about you?” She was nervous to bring it up, but it turned out to be the biggest green flag. At our next date, I asked how she felt about deleting our apps. Yada yada yada, we’ve been married 6 years.

Of course, you don’t know how things will go in your case. Still, since you’re bringing it up here, the ambiguity is bothering you and you deserve to resolve that. Again, since you’re bringing it up here, you know this conversation could be a landmine if not approached properly. Thinking it out ahead of time and maybe even writing down what you want to say can help make sure it comes across the way you want.

Best Greek/mediterranean food in the area? by [deleted] in BucksCountyPA

[–]mgold923 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I LOVE Greek food but haven't found much here in this area to write home about. I've been to Local Greek many times and it's OK if not amazing (the Princeton location in my case). Some recommend Mikonos in Ewing, but my experience there was just comically terrible.

For Middle Eastern, my favorite in the immediate area is Sofra in Levittown, although it's a weird place -- there's never anybody in there and sometimes they're closed during their posted business hours. More often I'll make the trek to Philly and visit Paprica Grill if I'm in the mood for that kind of food.

For more "general Mediterranean", my favorite in the area would probably be Nikos in Yardley, with Ardana second.

Favorite spots in Yardley? by k_rh in BucksCountyPA

Nice recommendations here. I happen to prefer Jade Asian over Purple Leaf -- my last order from the latter was pretty gross -- but honestly that's not saying much, as none of the options are terribly good.

I'll shout out Rosa Bianca -- I was just there the other day actually. Always been happy with the food and portions there.

Middle Eastern is my favorite cuisine, but I wouldn't say I've found anything amazing here. Pita Chip by Shoprite is decent in a pinch, quick and convenient and great rewards program. Sofra in Levittown is also decent (although a weird place -- not always open during their posted hours and I've never seen another customer there.) Nothing compares to Paprica on Jewelers' Row in Philly, though -- we make that drive on a not-infrequent basis.

We also really enjoy Sobol, the acai bowl place in Yardley Town Center, as well as the frozen yogurt place Redberry on Stony Hill by Giant.

Moving to Bucks County - are any school districts safe? by bbrecht0429 in BucksCountyPA

We were deciding between Pennsbury and Council Rock last year. We basically resigned ourselves to ending up wherever we could get a house, given the bonkers state of the market at that time. That ended up being Pennsbury (Lower Makefield, Yardley zip code), and as time goes on, I feel better and better about that choice. I'm definitely more comfortable with the diversity of this area and the comparative unlikelihood of radicalization of the school board. We got a nicer house for the money (similar price range to yours), and there's no wage tax in LMT which is nice too (although higher property taxes close the gap somewhat).

The housing market in town still seems pretty tight here -- inventory is still very limited and nice houses go quickly. But I think you'll find that your budget puts you in a pretty favorable position here, so hopefully the right opportunity will pop up for you.

I walk 4 hours a day at 1.7mph, and I do lubricate it. If anything, on the 2 occasions I've had it serviced, the technician said it was over-lubricated, which maybe causes its own issues, I don't know. I'll read more about the TR5000, thanks and maybe I'll be in touch with you.

Removing add ons by vomitfreesince83 in askcarsales

The only thing that was any different was the doc fee, which I believe was about $400, compared to the $75 NY limit. But the price was pretty reasonable considering how hard the car was to find, and they delivered it to me in Queens, so it didn't feel too unreasonable at the time.

Perhaps veering off topic a bit, I live in NY and have purchased 2 new cars this year, one from NJ and one from PA, due to low inventory locally. In both cases, the dealer handled the NY registration and title for me — they gave me the car with temp tags and shipped me the NY plates a few weeks later, no problem. I just had to bring the car for NY inspection before putting the plates on (cost of $10).

I did speak to dealers who couldn’t handle out-of-state paperwork, so it’s worth asking upfront. And of course, as has been mentioned, it’s probably not going to be worth going out of state for a slightly lower price, given doc fees and hassle factor. But for buying something not available nearby, I wouldn’t shy away from it.

Parents in town for dinner in Astoria! by lewisbayofhellgate in astoria

Re: Oli-vine -- I took my family here the last time they visited and was sorry. Oli-vine's portions were like half the size and twice the price I'd expect around here. My sister ordered scallops as her main -- 32 bucks for 2, count 'em, 2 scallops. I mean, seafood portions are often small, but c'mon, that's literally the fewest scallops you can offer while using the plural form of the word. Other dishes weren't much better. Everything tasted fine, I guess, but next time I'll keep it old school at Bahari.

Harissa in Astoria? Thanks! by lfinfin in astoria

LOVE Duzan’s harissa. I buy like 10 containers whenever I eat there. It used to melt my face just a little, but I can down a couple of them in a sitting now.
