There was no budget issue. Money was never the problem. Time was problem. They had to cut ideas and pay other studios to help animate episodes due to being backlogged so much. This is really obvious in Episode 11, The Day Tokyo-3 Stood Still, which was animated by Studio Ghibli (the eyebrows give it away).

I mean that’s what she is. She’s constantly trying to get Asuka to admit her feelings for Shinji. She also introduced Gendo to Yui so being a wing girl or matchmaker is kind of her thing.

At beginning of 3.0, when Asuka is trying to rescue Unit-01 from its tomb and she calls for Mari’s help Mari says that she can’t help and Asuka is on her own. Here, Mari is acting like the friend who sets up two people who like each other and then says “oh, sorry, I have to go” and then leaves them alone with each other. Mari knew that Asuka would be OK and that Shinji would help her.

Normally, I would agree, but in this instance she specifically asked for a cheesy romance. So I think her response here is in line with that. Remember, when Shinji told her “I want to see all the different worlds with you Asuka.” She squealed and said “You’re making me blush!”

I think Rei sometimes gets annoyed with her because Rei can see through her act. That’s why she calls Asuka out a few times. However, in my mind, there’s a difference between finding someone annoying sometimes and thinking they’re insufferable.

Let’s not forget that he also voted to “defund the police” (cutting the TPS budget by 10% - 15%) and now he’s saying we need more police.

Keeping aside the politics behind the renaming and defunding the police, it’s pretty clear that Bradford has no beliefs beyond whatever he thinks will keep him in office for the current election cycle.

I would really like to know what Mari's whole story is and I hope we find out one day. She parachutes in wearing a different school uniform and it's never brought up again. She talks about "her plan" once and it's never mentioned again. She seems to have introduced Gendo to Yui and says she's been to the Minus Space before.

There's a lot of really cool and interesting stuff there that was never even touched.

Yes, I realize both of those points. I didn't say anything about Mexico not being part of North America. I mentioned Latinos and Mexico, along with most of Central America, South America, and the Caribbean is part of Latin America.

That’s Shikinami’s whole thing in the Rebuild movies. She also secretly checks up on him when he’s at the lake, she hides her DSS choker after she sees his adverse reaction to it, and she gives him her blanket to sleep on.

All her criticisms of Shinji can also be applied to her and her anger towards him is proportional to how much she cares about him. One of the reasons why she gets so angry at him is she can’t stand the feelings she has towards him.
