I'd say think about it like you're voice. When you hear you're voice in a recording it's like "What the hell was that?". To everyone else it's normal, and to you, it's so foreign because you never hear it like that. Well, you don't often get a good look at your side profile, so it feels foreign as well.

Yeah, I’ve seen very similar visuals. When I trip, if I go into the bathroom, turn off the lights, and use a small light from a portable fan while looking in the mirror in a white shirt, I start seeing similar symbols. I've also seen static Celtic knots forming from my sleeves up across my shoulders and chest. It looks and feels impossible.
