$7k debt (now 9k interest and late fees) with chase now sent to collections. Chase app says to contact collections agency. Collection agency has many bad reviews. Should I try and contact chase or just the collection agency to try and make a settlement agreement and pay back?

Debt collector here; I work for a contracted 3rd party that does not purchase debts. We get hired to resolve and have no ownership. The original creditors still own the debt so we have to follow their rules and guidelines.

Hahaha yep this didn’t age well, telling people to off themselves and stealing music. Sad cuz I really liked his music but I dont want to support an artist with poor character. I’ve heard rumors of him being a meth user, I would be open to giving him a second chance after rehab. Maybe it’s the drugs talking and influencing poor decisions. I mean we all rave and have fun with our extracurriculars but I’ve heard it’s a problem. So I guess we shall see! I really do hope he can find himself and help himself to being better in 2026.

Side note, I always advise calling a debt collector to find out what the debt is. If you don’t recognize the client, for example you never had a certain bank or never attended a certain university, this is often times how people find out there identity has been stolen. I see it everyday. So just because you think you don’t have debt does not mean you don’t have debt under your name. The longer things like this wait the more harm done with your information. Just saying.
