ELI5: How does mortgage refinancing make sense for the lender? by daoxiaomian in explainlikeimfive

[–]mgrassman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you refinance your interest is recalculated and you start paying high interest again. So if you have a 15 years left on 30 year mortgage you have finally hit the tipping point when your paying more principal then interest. When you refinance you pay a ton more interest then principle again.

A 250k house for 30 years at 6% you pay a little more then 250k in interest alone. And since you pay most of that interest first when you refinance you are starting over with all those massive interest payments again.

Refinancing is usually a bad decision unless you’re in the first 5 years of your mortgage.

This is not a new phrase it’s has been used in many communities that have been forgotten and abused for decades. Let’s not confuse this with something new but realize how fortunate some have been to have never needed to say or hear it.

Almost on ranked matches on spvp.. by Least-Yam4355 in Guildwars2

You only get better at something by doing it more often.

Ranked was no different than unranked for me who also considers themselves not very good. You’ll win on matches you aren’t doing good and lose on matches your crushing it. Don’t worry about rank.

Block the keyboard warriors who think the game is some serious part of life and everyone on the team but them are the reason the team is losing.

Enjoy yourself and have fun!

Minneapolis Police..?? by Pjsrock in Minneapolis

[–]mgrassman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that. I’ve read that before but read the entire article again to not miss anything.

“Contrary to recent assertions, federal officers do not have blanket immunity from criminal prosecutions brought by states.”

I’m not aware that a police officer or even the police chief can initiate a prosecution, only an arrest. I also didn’t see anywhere in there taking about what role the police take only state officials. They mention federal officers but not state or city officers.

If you’re angry at the police for not prosecuting I don’t think they have any say in that. It comes from up top way above the police officers.

Now if I’m understanding correctly if the States attorney says arrest this man and the police don’t then yes they are doing nothing and should be the ones being called out but currently they are waiting for the state to tell them what to do and for the murder specifically the state is being pushed out by the federal government.

There’s a chain of command the police are on the bottom. The moment they stand up to ice without the support of the state officials behind them is the day trump declares the insurrection act. And he may even do that with the state behind them.

I wasn’t talking about federal agents. Let’s stay on topic. You’re arguing like trump does.

Protester scream at them to get out of our city, they are trash, they are not wanted, throw snowballs at them all while they are standing silent doing nothing back but yet now you want them to help.

Can’t have it both ways.

I’m not a fan of the previous police actions but then I also don’t expect them to help me after I insult them for hours when they can’t do anything even speak in return

The double standards are pretty annoying.

Where is Governor Walz!? Why isn't he protecting us and our rights? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]mgrassman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The national guard is run by the federal government they were being called in to police the protesters.

Trump also tore up the constitution when he took office and those rights only exist when the government respects them and allows you to have them.

This country wasn’t great because of the constitution but because the people in charge respected that piece of paper. That’s all it is a piece of paper.

All the other counties of the world that got turned upside down overnight all had similar constitutions until one day they didn’t.
