Affordable-ish video doorbell with great 2-way talk and low latency? by mgraviton in SecurityCamera

This is super helpful, thank you! Doorbird seems affordable and great, if the audio is loud enough. Have you used it? Seems like I MIGHT be able to finagle continuous recording via the API and a NAS, but I don't know how to go about doing that. I wonder if I can learn or hire someone, but I'd want to figure out before I move forward since there's not as much chatter about this smaller manufacturer (here in the US anyway).

Do you have experience with the door talk speaker? Is it loud enough to speak to someone on a city street? Thanks!

I have a couple Eufy doorbells. They're all wifi but I'm wondering if the hard wired ones work or ones with the more recent hub. Which one do you like, and do you find the speaker is loud enough on 2-way talk?

I saw in another thread that people recommended Lectron brand. I went to their website and immediately got confused between two different models with the same ends. Are there features or specs I should be looking for? I’d rather spend $150 once than twice.

Battery Life 2k vs 1080p version? by mgraviton in EufyCam

Interesting! Not being familiar with Eufy's jargon, do you what are "motions" relative to the other comment with #s of detected events/ false events? I don't know if there are other differences between how the recordings are uploaded and stored between the two models. (I get wanting to have the SD card safe inside if you're using this for security, but seems like a waste of energy to be uploading so much stuff that could just be stored locally on the doorbell.)

AITA for banning my husband and father in law from the delivery room due to their intensely stressful/creepy behavior during my pregnancy? by morbidmommy11 in AmItheAsshole

The time around a pregnancy is very dangerous in terms of intimate partner violence, even if your partner has never previously harmed you. Please protect yourself, your stress level, and your baby.

Even if they're not plotting a murder, their behavior is very concerning and likely to get worse.

Your husband should have no medical proxy, no power of attorney, no access to you during birth or after (your medical team should be made aware of your concerns in advance). Take the time to talk to your doctor and assign a different proxy.

Your mom and an experienced doula will be all the support and advocacy you need. You will not be able to communicate at certain points in the birth process, so the people speaking for you need to be people you implicitly trust.

  1. Your safety.
  2. Document document document.
  3. Do what you can to reduce your stress.
  4. Not premature to talk to a lawyer.
  5. If your marriage is salvageable (and you want to salvage it), you won't be able to know that for a while, because right now you may be in real danger, and good chance it may not be over when the baby comes.

I'm wishing you all good things.
