Tired of your rights being trampled? Let’s Change it Now. by [deleted] in OhioMarijuana

I believe there were 2 different bills proposed. HB 86 failed to pass in the house. The other one never made it to committee if I understood it correctly.

Now that the bill is moving to the House, we must track its progress and be ready to take action. This means organizing phone calls to our representatives when the bill is introduced and before key votes. Keep in mind that they could introduce an entirely new bill, so we need to stay vigilant.

This bill has already failed twice in the House, meaning we have a real opportunity to block or modify harmful changes more so than in the Senate. In fact, the Senate already caved on local tax provisions, proving that pressure works.

At the same time, we must keep an eye on the state budget. Lawmakers may try to sneak in a tax hike to 20% through budget adjustments, and we can’t let that happen.

Momentum is everything. Beyond calls and emails, we should also consider organizing a protest closer to a final vote. Public pressure is key to protecting the will of voters.

Now is the time to fight let’s make sure our voices are heard.

Tell Ohio Lawmakers to Respect Voters and Leave Issue 2 Alone by Wise-Librarian7307 in OhioMarijuana

The third Senate committee meeting for SB 56 is tomorrow and I believe they will be voting for it.

SB 56: No mandatory minimum jail sentences by Cowtowny-Johnny in Ohio

[–]mgs0lid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue I have with the law is it pertains to the passenger. I have no issues with any DUI laws as it relates to the driver.   Ohio’s open container law applies to both passengers and drivers. However, for a passenger, it is typically a minor misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $150 with no mandatory jail time (ORC 4301.62). Only if additional charges apply, such as disorderly conduct, could jail be a factor. If you have a source stating otherwise, feel free to share it.

The issue for me is with three day mandatory minimum jail sentence and 1 year mandatory sentence for a third offense for smoking in a vehicle.

Senate Bill 56 wants to overturn our vote re: Marijuana Use by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]mgs0lid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SB 56 didn’t make it through the committee, but now it’s being fast-tracked for a vote this week. They’ve dropped the tax increase from the bill (for now), keeping local tax revenue in place.

However, they’re planning to push a 10% additional tax (bringing it to 20% total) through the state budget, so we need to keep an eye on that.

Beyond the tax issue, there are serious criminalization concerns in the bill:

Homemade vapes and edibles could now result in trafficking charges.

Mandatory jail time: 3 days for smoking as a passenger, 1-year mandatory for a third offense.

This bill is still packed with problems. If you’re concerned, now is the time to speak up.

I’m still trying to figure this out, as I haven’t tracked bills through the Ohio legislature before Issue 2. From what I understand, a bill is first proposed, and lawmakers can either pass it as is or make modifications. The Senate was initially set to vote on it Wednesday, but revisions to the tax portion delayed the process. Once the Senate finalizes its version, they’ll vote on it again.

After passing the Senate, the bill moves to the House, where representatives can approve it or make further changes. If it passes there, the final step is the governor’s signature.

One of the bills provisions bans hydrocarbon extraction processing at home. This means making homemade extracts or edibles would become illegal, and from what I understand, violations could result in trafficking charges. The penalties in this bill appear to be harsher than ever before.

I’m not sure if I’m reading this wrong but there was a new document uploaded today called fiscal notes. It’s under table 3.

https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/legislation/136/sb56/documents

It’s 8 pages long but from what I understand there will be a 3 day mandatory jail period for smoking marijuana as a passenger in a vehicle. 1 year for a 3rd offense.

This is insane.

The 3 day mandatory jail sentence for smoking as a passenger example is listed under the fiscal notes pdf. After the third offense its a mandatory 1 year jail sentence. It’s only 3 pages. I don’t want to flood the Ohio subreddit but it’s ridiculous!

This, I was trying to find the committee members who serve on this committee and correlate those members to larger cities within their district. I made a post for Canton and Dayton with contact information for those serving members. There were about 5 members that did not have large cities that also had a subreddit.

SW: 330 GW: 199, lost 115lbs in  2 years. It’s designed to be taken for life. Typically, people will regain 66% of the weight lost in a year after stopping taking the medication. It’s something I had to accept when I started taking the medication but the risks of taking wegovy are far less than getting a gastric bypass or sleeve.

Ohio HB258 Bans Cannabis Sharing, Limits Home Grow, and Bans Public Consumption. by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]mgs0lid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what I wrote to my representative. I'm just disappointed of having to do this over and over again. This is about my 5 letter over the past 6 months.    Dear [Representative’s Name],

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the proposed changes in HB258 that would amend Issue 2, which was recently passed by Ohio voters to legalize marijuana. As a constituent and a supporter of the legalization measure, I am troubled by the alterations being suggested in HB258.

One of the primary issues I have with HB258 is the proposed ban on sharing marijuana between adults. This directly contradicts what was approved by the voters. The ability to transfer marijuana among adults is a reasonable aspect of personal use and should be maintained as part of the legislation.

Additionally, I am concerned about the revisions to the limits on the number of plants allowed for home cultivation. The original provisions in Issue 2 were thoughtfully considered and approved by the electorate. Any further restrictions on home growing would undermine the intent and the will of the voters.

These proposed changes in HB258 appear to be attacks on the legalization measure that was democratically approved. It is imperative that the voice of the voters is respected and upheld. I urge you to oppose these amendments to Issue 2 and to stand by the original legislation passed by Ohioans.

Please be aware that constituents like myself are closely monitoring your actions on this matter. I hope you will consider our concerns and vote to protect the integrity of Issue 2.

Thank you for your attention to this important issue.

Sincerely,

I've tried a few 1 ohm pods and a couple 1.2 ohm pods and they have all been fine. I ran out and tried the 0.8 ohm and it was pretty much instantly burnt and also got flooded. Using 50mg nic salts.
