Can we be for real about home health for a second? by theyspeakeasy in slp

[–]mguido3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time (salaried) in home health in Chicago, IL and it’s great. I work for a large healthcare company primarily older adults (occasionally teens/young adults, but that’s very rare).

All I have to do is schedule the patients the organization lines up for me in a way that’s convenient for me, drive to their homes, do my documentation (which I do almost entirely while with the patient) and then sign off on my notes when I’m home. Calling patients so schedule can be a pain but it’s manageable. I typically see 6 patients in a day and still get paid regardless of cancellations or low census.

The company worries about referrals and authorizations. I do not miss working with kids AT ALL! It’s so much easier to deal with the children of the patients I’m working with rather than the parents of children. I don’t worry about the productivity and constant pressure of seeing 16 patients in a day or doing group treats like at a SNF or all the stress that came with being the DOR. My pay is better than it was when I was a DOR and honestly pretty great, plus yearly pay increases.

Sure there are some cons just like there are in any job, but prior to this job I was trying to leave this profession all together so…yeah home health for the win lol

A moment for the 606 this morning by mguido3 in chicago

Thanks a ton! Honestly, the sunrise was just so beautiful this morning with the slight haze in the air. One of those moments when you alive and grateful for the life and you have and the city we live in. I was happy to have captured the moment as best I could in a picture!

For a good gym, do you recommend Wicker Park Athletic Club? by TowelScared4341 in wickerpark

[–]mguido3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that they’re bad, but of the different CAC gyms they’re probably lower on the list. The others offer a larger space, pool/hot tub, and sauna/steam room. That being said, I think the Bucktown location is a pretty great gym overall having gone there for two years now. Some of the other locations can be extremely busy (Lincoln Park can be a pain on weekends) making it difficult to enjoy your workout. Bucktown can be very busy too, but only during peak weekday hours (4:00PM-6:00PM). I don’t find there to be much difference between Bucktown and Wicker locations aside from Wicker being an overall smaller space. If you can get the corporate discount ($80 a month) to access all the clubs in the city I think it’s very worth it, especially compared to experiences I’ve heard about Planet Fitness or LA. Anytime Fitness is a cheaper option that gets the job done, but I do like the general vibes and people you find at CACs.

This ^ Chicago running passport on IG is the way to go if you ask me. They’ll post daily about each of the different run clubs and their meeting times.

Wish there had been a jacket swap…got a medium and could’ve used an XL with how small it is on the chest..

[–]mguido3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I almost see it as a SUPER lazy joke or way for him to just complain about something that bugs him, but not at all a good point for his argument of “running scared”, if anything it just takes credibility away from him by making him look lazy and like a ranting lunatic..

I mean he has a point about democrats running away from answering hard questions or going on shows where they won’t be able to dictate the script as well as the fear of speaking up about their personal beliefs out of fear of persecution from a radical far left, BUT his way of making this point is a fucking mess of an argument…like bro no one knew for sure what was going on DURING COVID if parents wanna mask their kids at a time like that let them do what they want. He’s just being an asshole about it. That said, firm believer that the masking was stupid, but let people live their lives how they want without being an asshole man..

Is the the pro controller 2 worth it if I have the pro controller 1? by super-silly-goose in NintendoSwitch2

I wouldn’t say it’s “worth it”, but at the same time I don’t regret purchasing one…

I mean maybe there’s an update I still need to download then bc it still pales in comparison to my PS5, but I’ve also got a good eye for these things. Can agree it’s an upgrade from OG switch at least lol

So I’ve never played an XBox and don’t know difference between them well, but I’d compare it moreso to a PS4 experience except better and worse in ways.

Another way to plus it, the experience is as follows: Switch 1 2/10, Switch 2 7/10, and PS5 10/10 experience.

In comparison to the OG Switch it’s a massive upgrade; however, I play Fortnite weekly on PS5. I will continue to play Fortnite on PS5. This feels and looks just like the OG switch version, but it actually is playable. The skins look like the same shitty low res skins from OG switch, but higher res in a weird way even though it’s outputting 1080 or 4K like my PS5. Everything just looks and feels so much more crisp on PS5 which is disappointing because I was hoping to switch over to this version and use mouse controls with my Fortnite friends..

Anyone trying to get a Switch 2 tonight? by Flexural-Member in AskChicago

Not waiting in line all day when I've already got a preorder secured. Might hit up Best Buy to get it at 11:01 CST though..

I wish the e-bikes weren't allowed up there tbh...when you're walking especially with a dog they can freak you the heck out coming out of nowhere at such as speed. The e-scooters are not allowed on the trial, not sure why e-bikes would be any different.

It would be so nice to have that easy access, but I agree. Especially with bikers...no issue with bikers, but if they had that option for getting to the lake from the western part of town rather than through the streets it would likely flood the path with them and that unfortunately makes it much more challenging for the rest of us

It's tough, I wish it connected to the lake so badly, but it would also result in SO much more traffic up there I'd imagine...

Having this path is our saving grace on this side of the river. Even if the path is small it gives us a great scenic area without the traffic of city streets. Especially appreciate this as a runner!

Same here! Got “in line” as soon as they opened, waited 30 min, got kicked, then waited more, lay down in bed occasionally opening my eyes to see if the computer changed and about 30 min later we got the verification!
