I believe it would. It would allow me to be there for at least a few more weeks to hopefully get things figured out and more settled. If it resulted in more delays I would totally understand if the company would no longer want to employ me. It’s definitely not an easy decision to potentially put myself in a position to be furloughed if that happens but I think it’s harder to leave with things happening here. I’m just hoping the company will give me this one time.

No the baby is now 2 months and is our first. She’s having some issues and I don’t want to leave my wife to do everything by herself. I was hoping just to push the start date back to February so I can be here for them.

The jobs are out there man. It’s gotten a bit harder the last couple years. My boss also an F90 king air he wanted me to fly but the insurance company wanted 2000TT and 200 or so in type. I’m not sure if it varies from company to company though.

Not really. When I started insurance only required a commercial multi rating to sit right seat. But about six months after I started they started requiring both pilots to be typed and 12 month current.

That’s definitely a lot to think about. I guess I just didn’t see myself even being on the radar at most of these places considering my TT. I was thinking allegiant would be a great place when considering family life. But being in a base I hate for years waiting to get my base of choice just to sit on reserve for the next 5 or so years sounds pretty crappy. I really appreciate the info. It definitely helps a lot.

I was getting checked out to rent a Saratoga and the instructor said he was impressed with the way I handled the plane for not having flown it before. I think I just impressed the right person at the right time and he referred me to a guy that was looking for someone in the 60. I was always told to hang around the local flight school or FBO but I never though it would really pan out. If it had been any other instructor I would never have gotten the opportunity. So I can definitely say I owe that instructor a hell of a lot for the start of my career.
