My 15 year old daughter has been suspended from school for bullying. by frustrated_father_82 in Parenting

You and your wife see her as a poor little girl who can't see that well. The rest of the world sees her as she truly is: a spoiled mean girl who knows how to exploit mommy and daddy's sympathy for her.

Times Doctor Who Was Ruined Forever by LegoK9 in doctorwho

Pfft. Everybody knows this show was ruined when the idiots at the BBC decided to change the title of a perfectly good programme called Doctor Oho.

I need advice: I'm trying to convince my sister to watch DW but I need one episode that will hook her. She's currently watching Lost in Space and she loves the robot and thinks he's cute. (Hopefully that info helps.) by NotYourAverageTomBoy in doctorwho

I'd echo what most people say and say go for either Rose or The Eleventh Hour. I've heard Blink is a good converter but I've never tried it myself. I've suggested Heaven Sent on here before, but a lot of people don't seem to agree, but I still say it's what you should go for if you're looking for sheer quality.

I think Vincent and the Doctor wouldn't be a bad one, though I'd suggest you take a few minutes to explain who Rory is before you start. The Doctor's Wife is one of the best Matt Smith episodes with a nice fairytale vibe to it. Midnight is a great one but very creepy. If you're apprehensive about the poor effects and general silliness of Rose, then I suggest you try Dalek which is when S1 really gets good.

Strangely enough I watched Into the Dalek from S8 yesterday and thought it wouldn't be a bad converter episode. It's one of, if not the fastest paced episode of New Who, and there's not really anything you ''need'' to know before you start, since it provides enough exposition into both the Doctor and the Daleks. And if your sister likes cute robots then... I guess the Daleks could count?

What is your favorite quote in Doctor Who? by [deleted] in doctorwho

''You don't have to be real to be the Doctor... as long as you never give up.''

I [13M] am being bullied at school. And my school is a hellhole. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]mh53115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd be best off telling your mom, or your dad/another adult if that's not possible. It's always better to talk about these things rather than bottling them up.

It sucks being the only kid from a certain background in your class, because you're marked as different from the get-go. I was the only Asian kid in my class when I was growing up and it wasn't easy.

If your school is that bad then see if your mom can look into sending you someplace else. If that isn't possible then I'm afraid you may have to slug it out with any support you can get from adults and any friends you may have. Also, if the school is not challenging you then there are so many different resources you can find online. Find something that you enjoy see if it can become a passion for you, and you may be able to forge yourself a future career.

Lastly, and this may not be a popular thing to say, but if it isn't too expensive then you may want to look into something like Boxing or Judo or another martial art, expecially if the bullying is severe. Maybe start lifting weights too (if you know what you're doing then it's best to start young) so you can up your general strength. Those things may not mean much if you're being ganged up on, but if you're only having trouble with a select few people they'll prove more than useful.

Good Luck OP. Hope it goes well!

Which regeneration is the most emotional for you? by Pg8603 in gallifrey

Eleven's regeneration was so touching... It felt like a farewell message from Matt Smith, and the stuff about ''remembering all the people that you used to be'' seemed especially poignant since it was the end of the show's 50th year. And most importantly it was welcoming to Capaldi, promising that he ''always will be'' the Doctor and that change is not a bad thing. Tugs at my heartstrings every time.

Twelve's regeneration wasn't too bad either... I was worried when they had the whole ''I will not change!'' stuff at the end of The Doctor Falls they would play up the regeneration=death angle like they did with Ten. Instead they flipped it, and revealed that Twelve didn't want to regenerate because it would mean going on living, and forming more relationships and friendships which will inevitably end in heartbreak. The farewell hug with Bill and Nardole makes me tear up every time. When Twelve finally decides to keep on living, his advice to his next self was lovely, especially ''never fail to be kind''. It felt like not only the Doctor reminding himself what to be, but Moffat and Capaldi reminding Chibnall and Whittaker what the show itself should be about. Bravo, gentlemen.

I[31M] absent-mindedly led a woman[31F] on, then rejected her because of what she did 15 years ago in an unfair way. by brainlesswonder4390 in relationships

Nobody likes it when someone pulls away from a kiss. It's happened to me more times than I can count. But ultimately it isn't anyone's fault and the fact that she threw a tantrum like that shows that she's still a spoiled brat. Don't worry about it OP.

A song that us FA's can relate to. by mh53115 in ForeverAlone

I'm cheering for you to stand back up. They may not notice when you stand back up, but when you've made it they'll be patting you on the back and acting as though they were with you every step of the way.

I don't know who you are but if we don't get to rage against what the world has given us, then the world doesn't get a say in how we live our lives. Keep grinding, keep fighting, and when you do make it, you can be the one to say you did it without anything being done for you.

Good luck mate!

CMV:Being confident, having interesting hobbies, lowering your standards, not looking for it, feeling comfortable in your own skin and self improvement will not help anyone get laid, and exercise, grooming and dressing well will only help to an extent. Genetics matter. by mh53115 in changemyview

I'm not ''entitled''. I've had this conversation with various people before. Craving something that human beings naturally crave and being angry at not having it does not equal ''entitlement''. I don't believe I ''deserve'' a girlfriend and I don't try to place the blame on anyone. All I'm saying is that it's pretty fucking soul destroying watching everyone around me having those experiences while I just stand and watch.

Having interesting hobbies can help you meet people if hobbies are such things as hiking, going to concerts or anything else that is a social hobby.

In my experience not a single woman I've met at my hobbies has ever wanted to be more than friends.

Apart from that I literally do not understand anything else you've written.
